Smelly yellowish-white chunks stuck in throat - part 2

I am not a milk drinker and never have been....and I get them!

I'm 23 years old too.. and i'va had these chnks coming out of my mouth since forever :-)... cant actually recall the first time, but i was shoked as hell... i just had one this morning so i decided to google it out just to be sure its not like a medical condition.

and like everyone else i'm thrilled to find out that I'm not abnormal.
Anehu, are they yellowish or whitish? should i be concerened if i get yellowish chunks?

I have had these for years. I get them a few days after eating sunflower seeds. It took me a while to figure out this pattern but it happens every time I eat the seeds.

i dont ever drink milk, i dont use cream and i still get them

Ok so it the smelly whiteish yellow stuff is stuck in my throat. It is so annoying and I'm really depressed I tried everything to get it out but nothing seems to work can somebody please help me!!

Wow I am so glad to see that there are others out there in the world that have the same issues as me with these nasty little things! My wife and Mom think I'm absolutely insane when i metion anything about them. So after finding this site and seeing all the comments of people that can relate. I explained everything to my wife and she doesnt think I am so gross now lol. I hate these things so bad!. Mine dont make my breath stink or at least i dont think they do (or my wife) but when i swallow it tastes horrible! I sometimes have to massage my throat on the outside to get it broke loose so i can cough it up. Its like i have so a horrible time breathing out my nose when i have one stuck in there but when i get it out its like i can smell a mile away! lol. I have never gave any thought to which food that i eat would be causing this but now that i think about it, i notice it happens very often after eating a poptart and milk. Which that keyword "MILK" could be the issue. I have been thinking of switching to soy milk to see if that fixes it but Im not sure i can handle that stuff. Anyway, it feels good to know im not alone on this subject.

Hey Guys .. i am also suffering from the same kind of problematic white stincky bad odured balls that got stuck in the crevices of my throat.. I too have had the stink balls in the back of my throat since I was a kid(I'm now 30). I recently started eating a gluten free and dairy free diet and the stink balls disapperared. Since I've been feeling so much better, I decided to re-introduce dairy into my diet to see how my body reacts. After about three days of eating dairy, I started getting stink balls in my throat again. I am convinced, IT'S THE DAIRY!!!!! :-)

In my language they call those horrible stink balls "Arriinuqs". Reminds me of some dead fermented animal. When I get those I start to feel feverish and sickly. I cough and clear my throat wildly and those creatures come rolling out, some big and some small, but deadly!

Flour and other forms of startch! Eg: bread, rice, macaroni...

I found the best way to get these out is to use a waterpik (I think it is called).  it is a device that you plug in, fill up with water, and water squirts out of a clear tube.  I plug it in but don't turn it on, get really close to the mirror and shine a light on the back of my throat.  I position the end of the pik where the "tonsil stone" is lodged and then turn it on.  The force of the water (make sure you keep it on the lowest setting otherwise you may be spitting out blood too) flushes the gunk out of the crevice. I have to do this more than once usually to make sure it's all out of all the holes.  It is disgusting but I can't stand the feeling of those things in my throat.  I'll gargle with mouthwash afterwards.  I used to try to do this with q-tips but it wasn't as effective and there seems to be more stuff deeper back in those crevices that just hasn't come to the surface yet and using the pik to get it all out is the best solution I've come up with.  

Sometimes I'll go for long periods without getting any but then they will come back, and it seems to coincide with getting a little bit sick and a sore throat.  I quit smoking 6 years ago but before that I had them all the time, I think because the smoke was irritating my throat.

I remember having these nasty ass white things in the pockets of my throat when I was growing up. I would dig them out with Q-tips. They smelled sooooo bad and caused horrible breath. Finally sick and tired of them, I saw an ear, nose, throat specialist when I was in college and had my tonsils removed. I am 40 yrs old now and have NOT had any of these nasty F'ers since having my tonsils removed. They must be hereditary or extremely common because now my 4 yr old little girl has them, and one of my friends told me she gets them and so do her son and daughter. I highly recommend seeing a doctor. No one should have to live with these!!!

Glad I've found others with this - first had it in my early teens. Mum had it then too. Then again these past 8yrs or so. I'm now 47.

It came back during a phase in which I was taking amphetamines so put it down to dehydration. I had a sore throat, left side, felt like a lump. It built up so much and was lodged for such a long time that it was starting to rot, going green and started to bleed. I pushed into my throat while turning my head far round to the right and it popped out. The most disgusting acrid smell ever. I was shocked and then recalled the white matter from my teens.

I think it's a build up of plaque in tonsil pockets, as my dentist had described the holes I feel them in - well actually it's always the same hole I feel it.

I don't drink nearly enough water but came off the amphetamines a few years back (it was just a phase I went through).

I have smelled this in some folks breathes but I guess they just don't keep their mouths clean or brush their teeth. I've just been to the dentist and she tells me my mouth is clean and not to worry. I floss and brush every day.

Perhaps the older you get the bigger the pockets will get thus holding more plaque

I'm gonna try gargling with mouthwash often - see if that takes away plague going down the throat from the mouth
