And before the surgery, the doc asked me if i had taken any drugs and i told him i smoke weed all the time and he was fine with it. He said that wee'd not gonna counteract anything or cause any problems when the docs are doing their thing. But other sh*t like coke and shrooms or whatever would cause some problems

Sorry if you have had a poor experience with marijuana, but educate yourself, instead of listening to what "society" tells you. I had a hemorrhoidectomy surgery four days ago. Despite taking Vicodin every four hours, the pain seemed endless. So, I just smoked some Mary Jane and the pain seems to have subsided due to the distraction created by it. I'm not a scientist but as an engineer, I'd recommend you use marijuana as a post-surgery recovery method.

Dude you are so wrong. Please educate yourself or don't comment. I use medical marijuana for pain because it causes no organ damage. It is actually the recommended painkiller for people with my (rare) chronic illness for that very reason. You should really look into the history of marijuana prohibition if you want to know why it was made illegal. Comparing crack to cannabis is absolutely insane.

I had surgery on my foot which included my bones being broke and realigned 3 days ago and I smoked up until 1am the night before surgery, I went in the next morning had the surgery and was home by 5pm, by 5:15 I had lit my first joint and combined with the after effects of the anaesthetic, morphine and codeine I felt amazing! I am a moderate-heavy cannabis smoker and I have reduced my intake to 2-3 joints a day since surgery and I have found that I am in less pain and more comfortable when I am high rather than taking the painkillers prescribed. I know this thread is quite old but thought someone might find it useful.
