Hi, I am a 21 year old, and have this problem. A sore feeling starting at the base on my penis -- kind of feels like DOMS (Delayed onset muscle soreness ) -- when getting an erection after ejaculating.
It thought it was just because the muscles used in ejaculating were tired, and it was normal. until recently being told otherwise.
If I masturbate without ejaculating, there is no pain when I get another erection. So it is the ejaculating and not the muscles becoming tired from being erect that causes the problem.
It would be great if we could find a definitive answer for what is causing this problem, as it does seem to be affecting a considerable amount of men (of all ages). And must be having a large impact of thousands of couple's sex life. So some scientific research into this issue should happen.
Although, only being able to ejaculate once a day does mean I have wasted much less time (and tissues) throughout my teens than many of my contemporaries, lol.

Hey what’s up guys? I couldn’t create an account, but call me italiandood, and I have a really long post for everyone. I was so happy to find this forum; this literally has changed my life and is making sex/masturbation more enjoyable for me. Shout out to Zenman for explaining the advanced toothpaste method!! Lol and to all the others that have contributed with answers to this crazy penis problem, thanks so much. I can’t believe everyone says the same thing that Urologists have no clue, that’s crazy!
I want to describe a few things in detail that are different with me, that might really be able to help others out in the future. I get the strain in the shaft of my penis only, not in the head or balls. I am circumcised. But the biggest difference is that I don’t actually have to squeeze any semen out, I just have to finish my orgasm (I will explain). So I took the idea of the Advanced Toothpaste Method, but applied it differently to my body and what I thought might work for me because of how it all feels, and it did work! I’m not trying to say the toothpaste method doesn’t work, to be clear. Obviously it does for others who have posted success stories. I don’t have the pain in my shaft for every orgasm, and I never knew why until now. I always get it after masturbation, but never from a ha****b or blowjob from a girl (because foreplay is the best for me lol). Sometimes I get pain after vaginal, but I will explain.
Since masturbation is not nearly as good for me as being with a girl, I realize now that I am having incomplete orgasms. So, without giving too much information lol, I just have to finish myself off with my hand, and sort of stroke it in a certain way that will get the last few remaining pumps out, that are part of the orgasm. So my issue is that I have to make sure I feel every pump associated with my orgasm. Just because I stop cuming doesn’t mean the orgasm is finished. I don’t even think it’s about the semen, to be honest, but it might all be related.
I have also noticed this issue when I do the Tantric Sex thing ( I think that’s what it is called), where I hold back my ejaculation right before I am at the “point of no return.” I end up having a stronger orgasm when I actually do ejaculate like a minute after, but I end up having the same issue as masturbation, where I don’t have the complete orgasm. The Tantric Sex messes with my orgasm. So I have to use my hand and finish my orgasm on my own in that instance, just like I would if I was masturbating. So this is the only time I have pain from vaginal.
When I’ve gotten the pain in my shaft in the past, it wasn’t unbearable, and I would continue to have sex a 2nd time every now and then. Once I started getting into the sex and work towards the 2nd orgasm, the pain actually went away. So it’s like I just had to fill up again, ejaculate/orgasm fully, and the pain went away. I think other people have mentioned that before me, and I just wanted to say that I have that same experience with a 2nd orgasm.
I used to always urinate afterwords, because that seemed to relieve some of the tension that I would experience. I still recommend doing that if you have this issue, even if you figured out how to make the pain go away. Lots of people seem to agree.
So that’s my experience! Hope it helps some people in the future, and thanks again Zenman and all others who have contributed. We should bump this message board every now and then to make sure people see it with similar problems.

24 year old male. I've had over 130 sexual partners. I've experienced this pain at several different levels. In the past, and near my earlier sexual encounters, my penis would feel sore as if it was "out of juice" or just worn out from long sexual activity. But lately, I've had a very serious, and real painful experience. The night it started, I slept with a new girl. The next morning I was in pain. I had challenging urination for a few days, but it eventually faded away. my doctor stated that it was from dry seamen in my shaft. Yet over three weeks later, if I have sex before bed, I wake up with a PAINFUL erection. I mean, it wakes me out of my sleep, and makes me get a ice pack. When the erection goes away, I feel better. However, during the erection- the pain feels as if my tract, or "inner shaft" of my penis is inflamed or swollen. Squeezing and adjusting relieves some of the standard erection pain, but the inner pain is almost unbearable. Almost bringing me to tears. Sometimes the "toothpaste method" helps, but not always. I have a appointment with a urologist soon. If anyone has any info on this email me

Hello!I have been having this problem as long as I can remember (nearly all my sexual life). I have visited urologists (with no results), searched for all the internet, tried the toothpase method (that reduced my symptoms but not eliminated at all) and everything. It seemed that I hadn't a solution, and it was really frustrating
Finally I found the problem that caused all that painful erections (year after year I also experienced low libido, semi-impotence and felt that my sexual life was getting worse with the time). My problem (and probably the problem of some people here) was an inflammation of the prostate. Non bacterial inflammation especifically (nonbacterial prostatitis)
First of all, DO NOT TRY to make this technique without having asked an urologist and made a bacterial test of your semen. This technique changed my life, it envolves removing the prostate fluids with a massage but if you have an infection, it would spread the infection through all your body. BE SURE that you do not have a prostate infection produced by bacteria.
The technique is not pleasant. In fact it envolves inserting a finger inside your anus. I felt really bad about the idea. I didn't want to make it, it didn't seem very nice but it was my last chance and it really changed my life.
My urologist never made me an exam of the prostate. I took ecographies and bacterial test, and they are WERE NORMAL, but when I did the digital prostate exam, I felt a lot of pain when touching the prostate. That meant I had an INFLAMMATION. After some days performing the prostate drainage the pain dissapeared. I also experiencied that my sexual life started to become normal again!!
The technique is called prostate drainage. Performing it you take out some fluids of the prostate that were struck, causing the inflamation.
In google, typing "prostate drainage" you can find more information!
But please, first of doing anything, consult a professional about it!!
I hope many of you can find the solution to his f*****g problem!! I did!!
Best of luck to you all!!

Sometimes soreness happens, especially if you're only waiting four hours. Keep your skin healthy with a moisturizer like Man1 Man Oil so chafing is reduces, and use lube while you're jerking.
