I've had that type of pimple twice during the month of June, two years in a row. Depending on how it develops, it can abscess (i.e bleed inside the 'containment' area). A small sterilized syringe would be best to drain it, however since the pressure might be higher inside your pimple, it can simply blow up with a sterilized needle without any damage to your ear (although you'll definitely hear the explosion!). Whatever you do, make sure you sterilize what goes inside your ear, and go extremely slowly.

I get them in the same spot on my ear every so often.
OF COURSE THEY HURT and I try not to touch it or poke it
but once I accidently hit my ear against a chair, a soft chair at that,
and it just exploded. I started crying but at least it was gone.

Actually I have one today...in the same spot.

3 days ago I went to an ear doctor as the pain I was experiencing was excruciating. It turns out I have a pimple in my ear, and since I was scratching it with what I thought was a clean fingernail, I caused an infection! So the doctor put me on Ciprofloxacin to get rid of the infection, and put some gauze in my ear. As for the pimple, once it is ready to pop or does pop, I have to go back and he'll suck out the c**p. For those of you who don't have insurance.... The best advice would be to NOT touch your ear at all!!! Do not try to pop it yourself, think about when you try to pop a zit and 2 days later it comes back with a vengence! The doctor himself told me to NOT sleep on the ear that has the pimple, avoid any excess pressure on that ear. Putting a warm/hot cloth over your jaw and lightly on your ear may help soothe the pain, and maybe draw the pimple to a whitehead. Once it pops, (you will hear it he told me) use a damp cotton swab (be sure it is clean, having not touched anything) to clean it...and then use a bit of tea tree oil on a new swab to dab it on the popped pimple. Peroxide and rubbing alchohol are too intense for your inner ear, and may cause overdrying or more problems. Tea tree oil is safer, and is a natural disinfectant. I use it on popped facial zits. Ibuprofen is the best to take for the pain, and try not to talk too much or eat foods that make your jaw work overtime. This is the worst pain I have ever felt, so I would not want to mislead anyone. If you keep getting them, or have one for months, you should really see a doctor though. I hope this helps!

about two weeks ago I felt a little bump in my ear...i'm like oh @#!*, so I popped it...bad idea. Now it keeps getting p***y and red...and I have to drain it to relieve the pressure. I put neosporin on it and hopefully it will reduce the risk of infection :S

I received my first ear pimple when I was 12. I attempted to pop it by constantly scratching the surface skin. This only resulted in a large raw and sore area where the pimple had previously been. I have had three since then and I have learned that it is easiest to allow the pimple to go its natural coarse. I will warn you though that the pimple may take up to three months before it pops by itself.

I agree on wearing dirty ear phones. dont share them with anyone either that mite bring some foreign bacteria into ur own ear and coz stuff to grow

okay so my ear pimple thing doesnt really hurt. it only hurts wen i touch it. and i dont just touch it for no reason. for example it hurts when i use a q tip to clean my ears. when i look at the qtip its red with blood. im kind of confused. is it supposed to bleed? and i havent had it for 4 days. its been a long time that the pimple has been there. should i go to the doctor? is it serious?

I just got my first ear pimple and it's kinda doing the same thing...I've never had one before so I don't know if it's normal. I've had it for nearly a week and I think that it's finally starting to go away....
