Ladies and Gentlemen (although hopefully, and presumably mostly gentlemen),

After reading all of the posts on the internet (and having the same problem myself)...

It appears, since we've all come across the same symptoms, that we've discovered something new in medicine (well it very well may not be new, but thanks to the internet, now it's discussed). However, it's apparently so embarrassing that it never comes up and no one has given it serious notice, since there isn't any harm from the condition.

Mine actually goes through the top of the skin like a tunnel, coming out a few mm down (just like a splinter may go in and out). Only, the black part is only on the side closer to the tip.

Anyways, we can all rejoice that it seems to be overwhelmingly harmless...

and, we can either celebrate it, as something that makes us have unique penises, or we can hide it away. I say that we go for the former...

HAZAA!!!

I just got back from the doctor, he explained to me that mine was just an ingrown hair. I'd had mine for about 6 years before i decided to do anything about it. The doctor got a needle and opened it up a bit so it was a larger hole for the splinter/seedy thing to be taken out. Since I got home I've tried to get it out but to no avail. Gonna leave it over the next few days to see if it works itself loose. Hope this helps people with what they think they may have. But I would suggest going to see your doctor, they'll be able to give you invaluable information. And if its not hurting, or stopping normal body functions, its not going to be serious :) And this is coming from a huge hypochondriac.

I thought i am the only one with this problem, i had this on my penis, a black spot, small and hard on my penis shaft, on the left side of my penis beside the veins, it used to be quite big, then it disappeared, and now it is back on the same place but it is smaller. I am 13, i dont know what to do, I cant tell my parents or anyone else. does anyone know if it is dangerous?

I had the same thing, but I couldn't pop it.  It was a tiny splinter-looking thing that almost looked like an eyebrow piercing would.

The doctor said it was a cyst.  It's basically a clogged poor.

I pulled the thing off by one end w/ a pair of tweezers.  Doesn't hurt, but the spot left behind it kinda tender.

I had one of these too. When I squeezed it out though, no puss came out only the brown thingy with the black spot. I can not relate this to anythng else and would really appreciate any info as to causes and if it is harmful or anything. I have only had one for like a year and I squeezed it out recently.

Hey guys I have this exact same thing. I went to the doctor and he told me that this blackhead was a result of having Hepatitis. These lesions happen only in the vaginal area and are caused by only this disease. There is no cure and you should get test ASAP. This is not just an ingrown hair but possibly an STD.

I've had these ever since I was a child.  I am now 40-years-old and still get them in the same place.  My mom first noticed it when I was a child and asked my pediatrician about it.  He said that is wasn't uncommon and that it may be caused by allergies.  He said to remove it and clean it well as it may get infected.  I still have to remove them from time to time.  Hope this helps anyone who is worried about it.
