would like to know more about stomach polops

I was found stomach polyps. I had a gastroscopy done because I had severe abdominal pain for about a month. I had gallbladder surgery previously. The doc who did gastroscopy said it is unlikely that these polyps are the cause of my pain because they usually don’t show any symptoms. However, he found nothing else. He did a biopsy just in case although polyps in stomach are said to be rarely cancerous. I am waiting for the results. I will get them at the beginning of January.

What exactly would you like to know?

The lab results showed that the polyp (not polyps-sorry) was hyperplastic, which means non cancerous.
The doc said this is exactly what he thought it would turn out to be, because most stomach polyps are benign. However, he did order a follow-up in a few months but told me not to worry because stomach polyps rarely cause further health problems.

I did ask question about those few polyps that are not hyperplastic. They are referred as dysplastic, which means pre cancerous. There are usually a couple of them and they are bigger than 2cm in diameter. They are treated during endoscopy every 3-4 months in order to be completely removed. Those who have been found to have dysplastic polyps in the stomach need to have regular follow-ups.
