I am pregnant for 8 weeks already, but lately I am afraid because of some strange feelings I have. Especially at night, I have tummy and back cramps, so I keep on wondering if that is normal. I would like to know if anyone else feels quite a lot of cramping in tummy and back in the beginning of pregnancies. This is happening to me occasionally, mostly at night. It feels just like the cramps before my period starts, so I am afraid if my baby is ok.

I used to get minor cramping almost every other day while I was in first trimester of my pregnancy. Since I was very young mother, which was something that really worried me. I was thinking I am losing my baby so I run to my gynecologist for the first time I felt it. I was having incredibly bad cramping in tummy and back, I was thinking it could not be good. I was hoping it was not too late for my baby because there was no bleeding. My gynecologist smiled to me when I came so worried and he told me that is something normal. Most women experience tummy and back cramps in first trimester, it is only bad if there is bleeding. Now I know and I can tell you that cramping is normal because your uterus is trying to grow. I can tell you not to worry, though I have a friend that has extreme cramping at work with bleeding. There was some problem with her so she had to go to the emergency room, so the only way to keep her baby was with some medications. She needed to stop the cramping and keep her uterus closed, so you could anyway visit your doctor and ask him about it, but don’t be so worried, probably that is normal with you.
