great post! I agree
So I have noticed the noise today and I am pretty sure I caused it to myself I have been sleeping in awkward positions lately due to falling asleep while breast feeding. I am also very over weight. I doubt that has anything to do with this issue... but I wonder if any of these other people are over weight also. Anyway. I am on blood thinners due to a P.E. so that one post kind of gave me the chills but thanks for all of the info :)

Hi there, I am 57 and have been struggling with the same symptoms. Could you tell me how this is being treated for you? Thx ~ JG
yup slightly overweight
I have the teeth issue too. Exact symptoms you have ... have been thinking allergies could be related issue.
I have a crackling sensation in my ears when yawning or swallowing. Mostly my right ear. It turns out that I have an ethmoid retention cyst on the right side. The left sphenoid sinus also has mucus. So basically I have a really bad sinus infection that won't go away or chronic sinusitis. The crackling is mucus stuck there in my ear also known as tinnitus. Besides the crackling sound, my tinnitus also includes a high pitched sound.
It's also affecting my teeth and gums. Sometimes I feel like the sinus infection is draining into my gums. It makes me feel like my teeth are being moved slowly. I've beenever back and forth to the Dentist, Periodontist, ENT and recently the Allergist. I recently found out that I developed new allergies to my cat and also mold. Allergies can cause a sinus infection also.

did anyone get to the bottom of it ?
Can you explain what you did to make it better.
I have this too! It reminds me of sand in an hourglass!
Is this still working for you? I have the cracking neck problem And I'm going to see a doctor like this tomorrow. Hoping it'll work for me like it did for you.
I have it too. Like crackling at the base of my skull when I turn my head. I have had lower back surgery and suffer pain always in my lower back and hip. The neck grinding crackling sound is painless. It started wheni was doing my morning stretches in bed. My husband pushed my leg down as I turned to stretch my hip flexor and pushed my shoulder down simultaneously...My neck popped! I was mad because I don't like to pop my bones... After that the crackling started! I going to see a chiropractor to adjust me. I think my bones are grinding because they are out of alignment... Will post my results.
Have you considered Lyme disease. Test for it in the u.s.
I've experience the same thing and have asked the doctor myself. He thought he was able to hear it slightly with the stethoscope but did not have an answer either. However I have come to the conclusion that it may be sinus related because after turning my head back and forth 8 to 10 times I feel the drainage. I hope that eases your mind but I'm confused as well.
I have noticed an occasional shock like that when I first drink something slightly warm. Other than that I don't have an ongoing issue. Do you know if you grind at night? That could contribute to it. Making them hypersensitive
I Have it too been diagnosed with hydromyelia possibly chiari 1
Rare disorder need the knowledgeable doctor/neurologist to check only they know really what to look for
