Hi there, I am 40 years old female and my problem is some strange prolonged bloating. I went to my doctor and he told me that I should visit gynecologist. I will go tomorrow and I am asking all of you for opinion. What kind of tests may be done in this condition? Is there anything I should know except this? Thanks in advance.
Greetings. Well you are right; there are couples of tests that can help you. Some of them are barium enema, stool tests, CT scan, and some blood tests. As for causes for condition, there are malabsorption syndromes, celiac disease, or adhesions. There are probably more, but I am not a professional so give me a credit. Well if some of the tests turn positive, then you will know what to do, but if those are negative you may have to consider a surgery in order to see what is wrong. But all of this is only my opinion without knowing your symptoms. Therefore my advice for you is to consult a doctor.
