I wonder how many in this thread are taking Glucophage (metformin)? That drug almost always produces the side effects of diarrhea and these floating bean-shaped objects. Something to do with the metabolism of the drug, nothing to worry about...
I am having the same problem and I have been on Metformin for over a year. These bean things just started a few days ago. My doctor gave me stuff to bring in stool samples to include those bean things, which I did today, but it will take 7-10 business days to get the result. She did mention a possible parasite/worm but said the first one I brought to her in a baggie looks like undigested food. I have been eating a lot of macaroni salad with dinner this week so I am not going to do that for a while and see what happens. I get horrible cramps in my lower right side on and off also but the CT scan didn't show anything so I am scheduling a colonoscopy. I had one at age 49, 5 years ago, and had one polyp so it's time anyway. It seems very odd that these doctors you all mention can't come up with anything but tell us not to worry!
OMG - I had some pitch black stuff come out of me as well. I have no idea what it is and I wasn't about to go into the bowl to find out. But the curiosity of what it could have been has been killing me. I have been doing a colonix cleanse for about two months and have had all kinds of strange things leaving my body (including parasites). I honestly don't know if that was parasite related but I am really worried. If anyone knows what it could have been, please let us know.
I think you all who don't want to listen to what medical doctors tell you are nothing but fools who must have something to worry about to be happy and have a reason to post on here. Get a life. I have had these for years, no problems.
I have been searching the internet to see what I can find out about this
strange looking yellow objects almost like kernel like corn in my stools. It comes and goes. Sometimes it's small, but I noticed when I eat a lot of sweets, the kernel like substance grows bigger and fatter. I've not examined it by touching it with stick but just looked. At first I though I do not digest corn, but hello! I didn't and even if I did, I chewed on them, so why would they come out whole? It doesn't make sense. I suspect it's some kind of parasite? I'm thinking of going to a Naturapatic doctor.
I just assume my regular doctor won't know what it is so why bother wasting my time? I'm worried though. But since I've looked in the internet and found other people have been seeing this strange mysterious objects in their stools as well, I'm thinking it may be something we are eating or in the environment or something. I first noticed it when I did a cleansing program several years ago. However, i thought it's a parasite and will go away once I finish the cleansing program. However it did not. It's not there all the time, but it happens enough to concern me.
You cannot call people who does not have trust in medical doctors fools, Mister, or Missus! I'm sure there are many out there frustrated with the medical doctors ...these M.D.'s who don't know what things are ailing you most of the time, esp. if it's something as mysterious as this. If you have the same problems that we are talking about for years and you chose to accept it as normal well then that's you. You can't call us fools and to get a life. We are worried about this strange thing, and are trying to find out what it is, and it's not because we have nothing else better to do. Please, if you have nothing better to say but to insult people here, then don't read our post!

If you are desperate enough to try anything, try a cleansing program...i would recommend Colonix by Dr.Natura (google it). I got on this cleansing program which I do now regularly for tune-up, after being bloated for a week, and I couldn't eat and had no appetite. My stomach protuded that I looked pregnant. I was burping all day and passing gas.
I went to my M.D. but she was on vacation so had a subtitute M.D. who sent me home to tell me to drink 7-up or gingerale. the burping continued and the bloating and the loss of appetite. i went online, and out of desperation tried Colonix. I had it sent ASAP by FedEx, and soon as I started the program, my symptoms dissappeared.

The tests ruled out parasites for you...I highly doubt you are free of parasites. It's just my gut feeling, you know? (no pun intended). The tests are not 100% to be trusted, so don't put all your trust to them or to any M.D.'s. Most of them are too stressed out to even think straight. Take care of yourself, and take matters in your hands.

Good luck to you. Let us know how you are doing.

I found one of these floating, orange bean shaped things too. They are too big to be any pill, have a thick waxy yellow/orange coating with pure white filling with the texture of cream cheese. Also mine was almost odorless with maybe a hint of epoxy smell. I don't take any medications, and I eat a healthy diet so I am curious to find out if this is symptom of a bigger issue. Somebody on this thread with health insurance please go get this checked out and let us know if it is something to be taken seriously or not.
Well I went to the gastro specialist yesterday. My stool samples from 10 days ago were normal, so I asked what the strange things were that I made sure I included in the two samples. He said it's mucus lumps, which is why I am having a colonoscopy and Upper Endoscopy on August 27, 2008. He said they can be caused by many things and he wants to find out exactly what it is. When I told him about this forum, he said everyone who has them should see a gastro specialist to rule out more serious conditions. He also gave me some IBS medicine (Dicyclomine 10mg) to get rid of the spasms I have an hour after I eat. Anyway...here are the possible things:Stress, Ulcerative Colitis, Bacterial Infection, Bowel Obstruction, IBS, Crohn's Disease. I asked him about the pasta issue and he said it was a fluke that I had the mucus afterwards. He said another thing is, I may have developed Gluten Intolerance, which can result in Celiac Disease. I hope this information is some help to all of you with the same symptoms!
I have the exact same thing happening to me. I noticed these rectangle type things in my poo and when i pulled one out with a stick and poked it it was white in the middle so i took it to my Dr and he had no idea what it was tho he says it could be a fatty deposit but took it to get it examined. I also had a colonoscopy and i had no polyps or anything that the dr could see. They ran parasite/worm tests on me and those came up negative too. I go back for more results in a few weeks so maybe he'll have a answer then
ghost tablets or diverticlosis of large intestine sequestered cellulose
I just started seeing these bean things in my stool. I have been taking Metformin in the formed pill state (non-coated, non-capsule), for a while, but recently had my dosage upped from 1000mg to 1500mg. Also, I had an ectopic pregnancy which put me in the hospital and had me on Hydrocodone. I've had food allergies and gastro issues for 12 years now (ever since my first pregnancy), so the diarrhea was nothing new to me, until I found these things in it. I've got a follow-up appointment with my ob/gyn on Friday, I'll be asking her what she thinks.

I just wanted to add my voice to the list, since we're all scared & confused about what our bodies are doing to us.
I've had the same orange pellets in my stool. I've done some experimenting of when I take my Metformin XR pills (solid white pills, no casing). If I take them at night without food, I get the orange pellets in the morning. I talked to my doctor about it and she told me that it was undigested pills.
I'm not sure if this is related to that bean-shaped thing you pass on your stool. Check this out, though:

I am so happy to find this thread. I couldnt figure out what these things were and couldnt find anything else on the internet talking about them.

Like other people, I am taking Metformin XR tablets. The extended release ones (large solid white pills) and the objects floating are always the same size and shape, golden colored sort of like a pretzel with a waxy rubbery coating and white stuff inside.

This is nothing I have eaten, and honestly doesnt look anything like my metformin pills, but so many people are taking metformin in this thread that that it is hard to avoid the possibility that this is a metformin tablet. Perhaps sitting in your stomach overnight would change its color, appearance and texture. It makes me wonder though if I am not getting my proper dosage or if anything else is wrong.

I'll contact my doctor with the sample I have and see what he says.

At least I am less worried that I have something laying eggs inside me now though.
