It may be best if you get a medicine for your anxiety; but here is what I recommend otherwise. I am not a Dr and my suggestions are not professional advise but this is what I would try. The mental reactions to a sudden stress are: fight, flight, avoidance, & acceptance. When you experience a sudden stress or sudden anxiety event and your body wants to fight or flight from this event, your body secretes hormones which cause your metabolism, respiration, and heartbeat to increase. This can kick-off heart palpitations in some people. This can happen very fast within the blink of an eye. Here;s what you can do about it. If you can mentally bypass the fight, flight response phase by
going directly to the acceptance phase your body will not secrete the hormones which cause the palpitations. If ever time something pops into your mind that stresses you, you say, "I ACCEPT IT", THEN YOU HAVE BYPASSED THE FIGHT, FLIGHT RESPONSE PHASE AND HAVE ACCEPTED THE SITUATION.. WHEN YOU ACCEPT IT, YOUR BODY DOESN'T RESPOND BY SECRETING THOSE HORMONES THAT CAUSE THAT SITUATION. You need to practice mentally saying "I ACCEPT IT" for ever event that happens in your mind until it becomes second nature. This will not work for all palpitations.

Hope his helps,

I had palpitations not more than one minute. I have done thorough testing of the my heart (ECG at rest and while exercising (stress ECG), 48 hours Holter monitoring and Echocardiogram, the results all were normal. But still I had heart palpitations. I have monitored my heart palpitations for the past 2 years, and the following are the results:
0.25 mg of Lorazepam nightly (only for two weeks) + stop heavy jobs + stop bending + stay away from heat + try good sleep + tranquility + healthy nutrition + quit smoking completely (I was smoking only 2-3 cigarette/week). But still I had palpitations while I was walking uphill. Accidentally I found out adding salt to my food specially using finger touch of salt before and after the meals. Now I can walk uphill for 2 hours and everything is OK. good luck

I had Heart palpitations for 2 years. I have found out that is due to no salt diet. since I have added salt to my diet it seems I am OK. salt could keep blood pressure from falling, I think low blood pressure could cause Heart palpitations.
