OMGodzilla. I am sixty two have been using Subutex for long term pain management. I have written about it and championed it on my NPR show. Had I known the effects of this drug, obviously,I would not be taking it, and being so positive about its benefits. I have lost most of my teeth in the past three years, since I have been taking this drug. I am ready to take legal action, this is BS!! I have about ten teeth left, don't smile alot and can't eat some of my favorite foods.  Please get in touch.

I learned quick that sub was bad for my teeth. So I started immediately brushing my teeth after I had taken it. I was on it for 7 years and my teeth are fine. I think people being put on it should be informed to take better care of there teeth while on it tho.

All opiates are causing serious dental problems if taking them long term. They dry your mouth and without saliva to wash away the bacteria it's cavity city! Eventually the pharmaceutical industry needs to pony up because many of us were never warned about the serious dental side effects before initiation of therapy. In my case, I have never abused any illegal drugs or any drugs for that matter. I was on opioid painkillers for an injury I sustained and severe headaches. I stopped therapy after the pain subsided, but the damage to my teeth is outrageous and I brushed and flossed religiously as well! These meds do serious damage to your teeth and that needs to be addressed!

Hi. I wanted to reply to your post....def. know what your going through. My husband and I have been on suboxone for 11 years maybe even 12 years straight. Our teeth are ruined and no exaggeration. Our teeth started breaking within the past few years I've already had two extracted and need a root canal $1,500 + $2,500 approx for a crown for ONE tooth". Not to mention needing countless fillings. I've always taken pretty good care of my teeth. Growing up as a kid always went to dentist for cleanings and fillings as needed. So it's not like I never took care of my teeth. Currently in such desperation purchased a $120 tooth brush, brush two min 2x day flossing and using ACT restoring mouth rinse 2x a day as well and still teeth getting worse. My husband his teeth are just about all broken or gone it's been HELL for him for years. We just heard about this suboxone lawsuit and we were pretty shocked and def want to get more info on that.

I've had the same thing happen to mine. I've never had so many problems with my teeth in my life. A tooth of mine broke and the inside of it was ORANGE. There's still remaining pieces inside the gun line that for years now are STILL ORANGE!

Again, I'm experiencing the same things many others are. I've had the same thing happen to mine. I've never had so many problems with my teeth in my life. A tooth of mine broke and the inside of it was ORANGE. There's still remaining pieces inside the gun line that for years now are STILL ORANGE! I doubt very seriously its any coincidence that the medicine is frikkin ORANGE too.

I too am having severe dental problems after several years of daily Suboxone usage. I'm headed to the dentist this morning to have my last two bottom molars removed (so that's essentially "goodbye" to solid food for now,) and after all the reading I've been doing on Google searches like "Suboxone tooth decay" etc. About 2 years ago I also started having nightmares about my teeth falling out (which as a therapist you probably know is a subconscious manifestation of feelings of losing control,) and now this nightmare of mine is a literal reality. I fully believe that Suboxone use gas exponentially accelerated the rate of decay I experience, and since few dentists accept the only insurance I can get, wait lists to see a dentist are often so long for me that even with brushing and swishing etc., my teeth pass the point of being saved before I can even get in to see a dentist. It all feels like a big trap and things weren't supposed to be this way. I don't know what to do, and going off Suboxone despite any withdrawals is obviously my next move, but what it's done to my teeth is something I can't just rewind, and I don't have adequate access to methods of fixing it. America: "the greatest country on earth" lmao. Yeah right. We have pharma industries that can lie about their products and we don't even have social healthcare like the vast majority of advanced or even industrialized nations do... I hate living. There is no god, there is only love, and my life is completely lacking in that department, but with uncontrollable rotting teeth, how am I supposed to find someone who would want me? Whatever. Rant over.

Suboxone ruined my teeth and I hope a class-action is formed against them for it because my "great, American insurance" can't do penis to help me.
