I've been on Suboxone for 10 years and found thid post because I'm currently in a lot of pain because of my teeth. I had some regular issues with my teeth before I started on Suboxone but now my teeth look like a caveman necklace. I've lost all hope because there is nothing I can take to stop the pain and as I watch teeth slowly break away I don't know what to do. I'm honestly lost.

Pretty much the same... 17 years in pain treatment, no major dental issues...couple crowns. I'm missing TWO canine teeth and every natural tooth is cracking, I made myself little tooth replacement pieces, but they stain and it's just for my self-esteem.

My dentist had to tell my doctor, and even today she just said she'd never heard of this happening before. Perhaps some of it is related to drugs that addicts were using, but I'm a pain patient and it numbed my mouth completely. My doctor has been weaning me so I can have the $20k likely dental work done, and is putting me back on a low dose fent patch. Here''s the kicker...down to 1 mg of Subutex and my mouth now hurts. That's how she and I agreed it is the med, as the dentist told her and she wants me happy and getting back to work. Hard in the beauty industry...geez.

It only states it will numb the mouth. Well, how are people even supposed to know there's an issue if they don't feel any pain and then a crown post breaks off while eating a sandwich? Doctors are still learning about this in sublingual and subuccal form. The BuTrans patch is amazing, but Medicad wouldn't cover it for my chronic pain, but they gave me a mouth full of ruin in it's place.I worked my butt off to wean off regular opioids, and never addicted...this is happening to pain sufferers because the government stacked the decks with addiction treatment doctors and center owners, cutting out the compassionate doctors' ability to prescribe as they see fit. Pain associations are trying to fight for everyone's health and rights - share your story with them!!!!

so please explain this then SCOTT, please explain how someone can have NO teeth pain at all, literally ZERO and then after having the suboxone is your mouth for 10-15 mins your teeth start SCREAMING in pain, multiple teeth that have no cavities or anything... even if they had cavities then why wouldnt they tell people it will hurt them more?? they are dealing with addicts and lots of time there can be dental issues with all of that, so please explain to me how they are not smart enough to tell people that?? what do they have to hide?? i have a friend who has a cavity and he hasnt been able to take his meds for 3 days now and he is very sick, the dentist office cant get him in for another 2 days... he has no pain at all from the cavity unless he puts his subs in and then the tooth starts to hurt very bad. I believe him because i had to same thing happen to me. no teeth pain at all and as soon as the sub mixed saliva hits the tooth i have to spit it out cause of the pain. Go ahead and try to explain that one. yes some of us might have dental issues but the suboxone is making it WORSE, how hard is it to understand that?? i know my teeth are not perfect but they dont have any issues if i dont take subs, same with many others, i guess we are all lying though right??

sad thing is, the company that makes this stuff wont admit to any wrong doing at all... they know EXACTLY what its doing to your mouths n teeth, i cant even take my meds hardly anymore cause after 10-15 mins of them being in my mouth my teeth start to scream in pain!!!! when i have no meds in my mouth the cavity doesnt hurt at all, only when subs are in my mouth. that speaks VOLUMES about what its doing, it feels like a burning stinging acid

I took subtext for four years no dental issues Six months of naloxon suboxone my teeth are destroyed they were almost perfect now I need multiple crowns and guns a receding it's the naloxon doing this it also gets in bone marrow and it's more addictive than subtext they claim to prescribe suboxone because people use needles with subtext I have seen people shoot suboxone tablets never subutex and everyone on suboxone sells there stuff to get heroin subutex patient love there medicine and rarely part with them also the blocker hurts your liver that's why people with hepatitis are given subtext also harms fetus in the womb
So how great will the future lawsuit against naloxon be similar to the great tobacco products lawsuit? Stay away trust me your better off on heroin or but L.S.D and a hit a day in 30 days you will be off cocaine or opioid. Self success method

I disagree with your opinion, that you made in your statement, Scott. I was going to a pain management center for pain and got put on Oxycontin 40mg, 4 times a day, every opoide almost will cause some type of withdrawal because they are all addictive. Well of course I got addicted and so did a whole lot of other people, so the lawyers got together and started a class action suit against Purdue Pharmaceutical Company because I got addicted and had no legitimate reason to get the meds from the Dr., because they were meant for patients on their death beds. I not only sued the pharmacuetical company but also the doctors office that prescribed it. We won the class action suit and I ended up with 65,000 dollars and my husband got 25,000 just for being married to me and having to go through it with me. I got 1000.00 from one and 1500.00 from the Doctors a day for everyday I was confined to inpatient treatment. For up to 30 days. So with that being said I have been waiting on someone to start this class action suit because their are alot of people suffering from dental problems because of suboxone.

I too have been on suboxone. My perfect teeth are devastated. I cant have anything done. I lost my job from back surgery. I was on some pain killers short period i hated the feeling they gave me. I WENT TO MY P.M.DR. SAID GET ME OFF OF THIS STUFF. He then started me in suboxone. For the 2 failed back surgeries. I have never been a drug user. Smoked some pot in the 70s. All the money i put in my dental work including removing silver fillings to the white fillings because i wanted my natural look. I brushed 3 times day. Took toothbush an paste when i went out. Suboxone runied my teeth!! I was not am not or ever have been a drug user. Except the very short time i was on pain meds for 2 years. No trouble with teeth. Now OMGOSH. I want to see a lawyer. Knowing the drug companies have the law on their side. Eill most likely be told to take a hike. B.W.
