My husband has a swollen gland (lymph node?) above his right collarbone. He suffers from hypothyroidism and is taking meds for it. He has also been suffering from sever pain in the hip/low back area for the last year. No doctor seems to know what to do but to give him pain meds. Any suggestions?
Hi there
Enlarged lymph nodes around collarbone sometimes can be induced by the stress. This is not the only reason, however but it can make the swelling worse. If he is constantly in pain at his hip, this might elevate the lymph nodes. How old is your husband? What medication is he using for his hypothyroidism? Is he having any complications with the high fever?
I think the doctor has to find the main reason behind the pain in the hip. The body is obviously having some difficulties and the lymph nodes are the ones that are getting swollen up. Sometimes medication for hypothyroidism can have an effect on the bones. Maybe his hip pain is connected with this medication.
