I got the swelling problem from biking. The Dr gave me estrogen cream to help with the saddle sores, but I was allergic to that. The allergic reaction is better now, but I've tried yeast infection medicine, UTI infection medicine, BV medicine, warm baths, and ice. The external vag cream that comes with monistat or something seemed to make it feel better. So did max strenth anti-itch cream with 1% hydrocort. I stayed home the other day and that seemed to help and have been wearing skirts every day. Plus I find that if I'm not as active as normal it gets better (sex, walking, etc). Go without your undies if possible. I'm still trying to get it to heal totally but it's a little better.

So I'm having the same issue. I'm 19, a virgin, and I've never masturbated. So it's not any of those things. I also don't think it's my soap either b/c I've been using different ones. I've had the swelling for a few years now, it only was on one side but now it's moved to both sides. I have no pain or itchiness. And I've never been to a gynecologist. But from reading on here, it seems that it may be a yeast infection or something. I'm not really sure.

I have this problem (swollen labia, hurt to walk), and just wanted to give an update. I went to a Gyn. specialist, and he took a test and I have a type of yeast infection that doesn't respond well to regular, over-the-counter medicine, like monistat. I think it was candita glabratta. He prescribed 200 mg of fluconazole tablets to take orally once/week. Plus he prescribed these boric(?) acid vag suppositories to take 1-3x/week. I feel a lot better. He said that a combination of the bike riding I did over the summer and the amoxacillin caused it. I can walk and sit more comfortably now. It doesn't take me a week to recover from sex anymore. I had a test and they said I don't have it anymore. I'm almost symptom free, so they said I should just take the vag suppositories until I feel completely better. This started over the summer, and the symptoms were subsiding a lot before I finally got in to see the Dr., and after a month on the medicine, this is where I am. Before I saw the Dr, I was wearing only skirts with no hose (wear thigh highs, knee socks, boots), sleeping with no underwear and wearing only cotton ones, I was using an over-the-counter anti-itch cream (1-2%hydrocort) on it, and sometimes I was wearing boxers instead of regular underwear. I was taking the underwear off when I got home. I cut out sugar, breads, pretzels, and most junk almost entirely. I bought yogurt with sugar substitute in it, and took probiotics (align) for a couple of months. I was listening to my body and not doing things that bugged it, like sitting on the affected area. I also think it would have helped if I bought larger regular underwear. Good luck!

Oh wow, Thank You! Same thing has happened to me, several times. I know it's no disease, point in case: I haven't had sex in *Ages*, and this morning I scratched my labia the tiniest little bit and within minutes the right side was soooo swollen and read (the inner labia sticking well out). It's just ridiculous.. so uncomfortable to walk! But no other symptoms, like smell or discharge. I am really thankful for your post - I don't trust doctors at all! They just want you to take pills, totally unnecessary in this situation. Normally it goes away within a day, I would say. Sometimes I've put ice on it to reduce the swelling. But I am going to try the apple cider vinegar bath! I don't know if I'll be brave enough to put salt in it though, lol, it sounds like that would really sting, no?
Thanks again - appreciate your help!!

My liba also feels a little swollen and bumpy? Anybody have any suggestions on what to do and what this could be. I'm not sexually active right now and was tested last year for STD's and don't have anything.

I have the exact symptoms as this but I have a few white spots on my vagina which are very painful, do you know what this could be? Or have you ever had this yourself?

I hope you're good now (: yeahh i'm 14 now and mine are like that too, i researched and stuff cause im kind of embarrassed about it too but theres nothing you can really do about it apparently, you can fix it by getting surgery but obviously we can't do that considering our age and the parents thinng Lol so i'm just living with it i suppose, a while ago i told my mom cause i got really scared and my mom being my mom she freaked out and didnt know what to do lol but yeah i researched it on my own and told her it was all fine and that ts natural, it happens to people (a lo more than you;d think actually)
