In my experience (lactose intolerant) I have gotten allergic reactions in past... my eye was swollen shut a few times. (itchy & lots of uncomfortable pressure)

I was told by several people to try warming up a small cup of water to wet a tea bag. Use the warm tea bag to wipe the eyelid, it helps reduce the pressure & swelling. Ive tried this on myself & on my hubby ... it works! I would also try taking an allergy pill (Non drowzy during day)

Be sure to avoid dairy products (unless lactose free / soy) if allergic because its always possible to swell up in other places (ei: neck) which can be very dangerous! Good luck. ;-)

I'm glad I did a search for this and came upon this thread. I woke up this morning and my right eyelid is swollen and a bit read, although not extremely painful (just a little bit bothersome when I blink). I was at a loss as to what it could be. I thought maybe it was irritated by sand. I live in Texas and we had a big wind storm yesterday and there's a lot of sand around here (they're doing construction a few blocks from my apartment building). I did go out for a short time to get a cup of coffee at the local 7-11 so I'm thinking maybe some sand irritated it from the hard wind.

I also noticed that just under the eyelid (on the thin line just below the lid, not under it) there's a small white bump, very tiny, like those tiny pimples you get (if you're a woman...) during PMS. I've had a lot of pimples like that pop up from time to time on my face but never on that spot. So maybe the swelling eyelid (which is just under it) is a result of that (or vice versa...)

I'm going to try and keep a warm compress on it and see what happens before I push the panic button and see a doctor. I'm not keen on seeing doctors (and have no money and no insurance anyway...)

i woke up with a small bump on the corner of my right eyelid on wednesday. i paid it not to much mind... but i woke up this friday morning and it just about covers my entire top eyelid and has worked its way down and under my eye is a little puffy... it is starting to feel heavier of course (because of the swelling)... i am going to go to the doctor today and will post back.

So My upper left eyelid is swollen. The eye isn't red, doesn't itch, but my eyelid is swollen. It's not a sty, doesn't match the symptoms of Chalazion, or conjunctivitis, or blephartis, i didn't get hit in the eye recently...I just woke up and it was like that I thought it might've been allergy related so I popped a benadryl, but I haven't eaten anythin which I am allergic to lately.

It's painful, but not red.

My eye lid at the moment is swollen. I began to read a lot of the replies on this. Then I read one that talked about a bump underneath the lid. I checked I have that, but it also said to "pop it" or "pull it out". Personally, I don't think I would be able to do that. My mom told me to put a tea bag on my eye, I am actually about to try that. I will see if it works, but if it does not I am not sure what I will do. I will probably call my doctor.

I think that's a good idea although I think that if you are having trouble with it that a jasmine tea bag will definitely help. Have you tried that yet? I think that would be the best course of action, aside from calling the doctor. What do you think?

I know that someone else posted that putting a compress of jasmine tea on your eyelid so if you haven't tried that I would recommend it. What do you think?

Ok...for starters I work at a wood factory....with tons of wood particles flying around in the air.
Last Friday I went to work...I noticed my right eye was feeling a little sore...I thought nothing of it and finished the work day.
Got home...went to bed....my eye was still sore. Woke up the next morning...the same eye was almost swollen shut (Upper eyelid). The eye its self has no redness...and "aches" every time I blink. I have no visible acne around my eyes.....So I have ruled that out as a possible reason for swelling.
It is now Tuesday. My eye has not gotten better or worse.
Ideas? Anyone?

from time to time, i wake up with one of my eye lids swollen. it doesn't hurt, it's not red - just swollen. most people say they don't even see it, but i do and the constant pressure is annoying. i have no idea what it is, but i do drink ALOT of milk. i stopped for a while (and the eye stopped), but once i drank coffee with milk 2 days ago - it came back! maybe it's just a coincidence though, but thanks to this forum, cuz i didn't see the connection before.
it anyone has the same symptoms as me (no pain, no redness - but wake up with either eye lid swollen) and know what this could be and how to get rid off it - i'd be grateful if you share. Thanks
