I’ve had a cold feeling in the bottom of the throat where my neck connects to my chest, it causes me to cough all the time for the past 3 weeks now. It started as strep throat, mixing with my nose being congested and coughing up mucus, but now I’m just coughing and the constant coughing is causing my chest and muscles in my stomach to hurt from the strain..

I'm pregnant also with the same feeling. No idea what it is.

For me, this cold feeling is present in my throat and a liitle of my chest. It’s not extra cold when I breathe in, it’s just there. I haven’t had any acid reflux but I just ate a large meal. I’ve also been experiencing allergies if that’s a plausible cause. I’ve also been getting a bit sick as I’m vacationing in Lake Tahoe. Any relations?

I has this cold/mint throat for couple of months now, tried all sorts of methods, and finally met an oriental method online, and the sympothon went away in about two weeks.
1) Drink a cup of hot ginger water everyday in the late afternoon: a spoon of ginger powder in a cup of hot water, no sugar. Drink slowly.
2) Put heat pad on your clothes at your belly as well as the back of your neck.
3) Avoid cool AC and air-conditioner, I had to wear mask in office, but my throat feels good.
4) Do exercise!!!
Basically this method is trying to push the Yin/coldness out of your system, which could results from previous cold or stomach issues. This method is natural and effective, at least for me, hope it can help as well, best wishes!

I think it’s the start to acid reflux. I had this same cool kinda odd skipping a breath feeling in the back of my mouth a year ago. That was the precursor to all hell breaking loose today in what the doctors now want to say I have acid reflux/GERD/LPR all of the above. I am not saying that this is your case but if you’re having these symptoms it I believe this is the kind of is the start to it all especially if you’re having it’s while pregnant or after eating meals or smoking, things like that are all kind of markers towards acid reflux. A lot of people have silent reflux and don’t even know it, but it starts to affect your sinuses and your throat is always sore and draining...mucous phlegmy coughs etc. Anyway hope everyone is able to figure out what’s causing theirs!

Just in case anyone else is experiencing this and wondering what it is I did some SERIOUS internet digging (after seeing my OB/GYN, GP, Gastro and ENT and coming up empty) and found someone who dealt with this and was able to overcome it. Here is what she said: The cool/minty feeling is fungal. I treated it as a fungus by using Rx Nystatin mouth rinse and swallow some of it after you rinse. I also stopped eating sugar and processed carbs (which feeds fungus) and used baking soda to brush out my mouth (swallow some of that too but not a lot) and ate an alkaline diet to neutralize my stomach. Eat salt, vinegar, do not have sugar or alcohol. Give it at least a week to die off. Pregnancy can lower immune response, you may have been weak after the birth and fungus is opportunistic. She went on to say that she finally had an upper GI that revealed a white substance running down the back of her throat...fungus. It didn’t show up in a culture because not all fungus are tested in a culture. She too had every possible test done and came up empty handed. I am hoping that this cures me and I hope that she (through me) can help any of you dealing with this as well She also said that many many people have reached out to her over the years with the same symptoms and they all since gotten better! There is hope! Cheers!

Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I’m dealing with it now and I’m going out of my mind. It’s been 5 months

Could a candida (yeast) problem make my throat feel itchy and give me a cold feeling in my throat and the upper center area of my abdomen?
