HELP!!! I've had the cold sensation, almost a burning feeling at the back of my throat for almost 2 months...can now feel it when breathing in through my nose as well...it's there 24/7...only time I have relief is while eating...i eat a very bland diet and can't connect this with anything other than the day it started I took a capsule multi vitamin that felt as though it was stuck...after a few hours it felt fine, but this cold feeling started. I've seen an ENT, had chest xray, hpylori test, blood tests, etc. Gastro dr has me booked for a gastroscopy, but not for almost three months !!! This has affected my life...drastically. Literally going out of my mind. Anyone get any answers since these posts were put on here awhile ago. Have to admit, I felt slightly relieved to know that others have experienced this...my doctors look at me like I'm crazy.
Hey Mel - did you ever figure out what caused yours? I have had the same thing since about Jan 2015 and it's insane. Just went to the ER and they did a Cat Scan but nothing showed except inflammation/irritation. Tested for bacteria and nothing. Tested for strep - nothing. Did you have any other symptoms, like pressure across your thyroid or anything? This is causing me a lot of anxiety and now that I see all these posts, at least it will keep me from having an all out panic attack. Just hoping it isn't super serious. It truly is weird - it's like you have menthol up your nostrils 24/7 and your throat us frozen because of it.
Just reading through this thread with interest, and I, too, have a strange 'cold feeling' in my throat after drinking something cold. This feeling lingers and can come back a good 10-20 minutes after I've consumed the drink (too long for the liquid to still be cold in my oesophagus, surely?).
Sometimes it's almost as though I can feel the cold drink is trying to come back up into my mouth.
This has only started in the last few months. I have had acid reflux for several years, but this is a new feeling.
Anyone else only get this after drinking?
