Too much pain medicine in the O.R. game me two more days in the hospital. The pain is the worst ever. Bilateral earache, teeth and jaw pain, tongue pain from being clipped up during surgery (bruising), mouth tears with pain, and throat pain in the worst possible way. Like a fresh flesh burn that never gets relief! Don't believe cold ice-cream stories; dairy creates more phlegm, and one cannot spit normally, so you gag and choke a little. Warm water and a heating pad for the horrid earrach has worked for me. On day 7 eating is a mashed avocado with pumpkin purée (no spices added)! You can add Whole Earth Sweetner, no sugar... sugar feeds bacteria. Get an IV of fluids before you leave the hospital, and some pedialite to go; because dehydration is real, and can put you into a tachycardic situation. If you feel weak, go to the ER, you're prob dehydrated and that is serious! Lukewarm to cool Plum Tea is a good neutral fluid. Lay on your belly with head hanging off bed if you want air to breathe. Have a supportive, kind caregiver. Counting down to better health. This better be worth this excruciating pain! All the best to you  folks seeking this surgery. If I could do it all over, would I? Absolutely NOT!
