I've had tkr only two weeks ago. I could not feel my right foot after been returned to the recovery room. However I regained some feeling the following day. I still have some numbness in the toes and heal which I was told would eventually go away. I would advise to keep up your exercises and hopefully this will disappear very shortly. I think after all these operations some part of the leg stays numb for a while. When I had my left knee done it was the outside of the knee. This part stayed numb for a few months. Hope this is encouraging. Happy recovery

My knee surgery was this past February so I'm 4 months out. I'm experiencing the same numbness and pain that you are. The pain is excruciating! I just don't understand why my surgeon doesn't help me in solving this problem! My life is on-hold right now. Good luck to you!

Total Knee Replacement March 2016. Pulled my lawn tractor out of the storage shed and never thought about it. Couple of days I had fluid on the knee and some pain. PA drained it and it is more painful than before. Doc cannot explain issue other than tissue that was harmed. Not taking any opioids but got some high quality pot specifically for pain which came from a doctor who helps Vets with pain issues. And it works and you are still functional. It is not euphoric either.
It sounds like nerve pain from the surgery. There are medications for that. Gabapentin (Neurontin) works for my lower leg and foot neuropathy at 100 mg 3x/day. I started at 300 mg 3x/day, about 4 years ago, but it made me too tired. I had a knee replaced 5 days ago, and noticed this med took the sharpness out of the incision pain.

I have little numbness but I’m getting sharp pain. It’s like a neuropathy. Dr prescribed Gabapentin. Doing better. My surgery was 2 months ago. It’s not uncommon. I still have swelling and that can be months more. I feel your pain.
Just had my left tkr, on 01/22/18. I'm miserable.it gets to feeling like I'm being beat with something solid, on my shin bone, that will travel to my heel and arch of my foot. My hamstrings are so tight now I can't get more than a 89° bend. The creepy crawling feelings 24/7 are so annoyingly uncomfortable. I had a spinal fusion in 2010 and a salvage surgery on the same spot in 2011, I would rather do those two again instead of a tkr. I'm in need of a hip replacement in I months too....im not taking g the opiates too much longer, I'm sticking with cannabis.

Don't think so. Had tkr in 2009. I have severe nerve pain in both feet. Socks feel like they are all wrinkled in my shoes. Pain medicine does not work. No one ever told me this could be a side effect after surgery. I found a prescription compound cream that contains Gabapentin 3% + Ketoprofen 4% + Lidocaine 5% that seems to quiet down the pain a whole lot. That and wearing socks in bed. Good luck.
its the knee operation. total knee replacement both knees. Knees still hurt and I have nerve pain in my feet. I also have fluid in the left knee on the left side. It was drained a few times which made me get a serious infection. Both knees had to be cut open down to the replacement, rinsed out several times and then a week in the hospital. Who is right for it and who is not? One doctor recommends knee replacement, but another doc does not. He says I'm too young, long wait, not bad enough. He wants to use cortisone instead. What to do?
