Honestly, this thread as gotten OFF TRACK!

After reading all the pages, it was on track in the beginning then went in a different directions in the last two or so. If your condition is NOT entirely the same as Roborg, you should make ANOTHER thread. We won't find a solution for this if EVERYONE who has a discharge from the anus comments here. If your problems don't somewhat match Roborg's description then you shouldn't comment in this thread because you are adding more problems that have different causes.

Roborg's problem does NOT appear to be caused by food or stress, it happens REGARDLESS. The user noted that it stated to happen AFTER taking a series of antibiotics and so have other users reporting the same. If yours is caused by certain foods or your emotions, that is entirely different and should be placed in a different thread. SOLVE ONE PROBLEM AT A TIME PEOPLE. Doctors don't put everyone who has an anus discharge in the same category!

I just wanted to point that out.

I don't think it's off-track.  Do we know for sure if the first guy had food sensitivities or stress?  No.  Do we know if antibiotics were the trigger for everybody else here?  No.

I'm taking probiotics now, partly because my doctor told me to, and partly because I know I've had several rounds of antibiotics over the years.  So who knows?

I think this is a good thread where people can browse different symptoms or causes that perhaps they weren't even realizing could be contributing to the problem.

I apologize behindit if I came off negative. What I meant was, we should be focusing on the cure. Sure we can talk about avoiding foods that make it worse but we'll never solve the problem that way. Would you want to spend the rest of your life not eating a bunch of things?

The question we should we asking is whether the antibiotics promoted a yeast infection (if it is a yeast infection) or did we happen to kill off the good flora that digested the mucous discharge (then we would have to determine which flora we need to replenish)? I think if we focused on this, we could get to the bottom line of the true cause. Don't get me wrong here, avoiding certain foods really helps but it does not eliminate this problem entirely.

I felt that we were heading towards the answer to this problem but it really faded away as we started to talk about avoiding a list of foods.

Just my 2 cents.

I agree with Dan on this. It has gotten off track. In fact, its starting to look more like a general anal problem blog with really sickening descriptive problems.

The reasons blogs need to remain on topic (Antibiotics and discharge) is so the next victim doesn't need to wade through everyone's off topic problems.

Lets keep this blog on focus please. Thanks.

I agree with dan that we were getting off track. I have the exact problem as Roborg and was so excited to know that I was not alone. That being said, I have started the florastor and the problem lessened, (no more fecus leakage, just mucus) and now have added another probiotic with three strains of good bacteria called colon health by Phillips. I was thinking what if there is more than one bad bacteria maybe more good bacteria.

I have to admit I was about to sign off because some of the replies seemed like advertisements. I don't know where Roborg went, but am very grateful for his honesty.

Perhaps I'm confused, but if the problem is antibiotics, then the solution is probiotics, and that was covered on the first page or two. If it's a yeast infection, or any infection, does that mean... More antibiotics? Be aware that the title of this thread does not mention antibiotics, and also that even if people think that antibiotics are the cause, they may be mistaken, and they may benefit from some of the discussion that has taken place. As for the graphic descriptions: when you're in a thread about anal discharge, you've kind of crossed the Rubicon already. I assumed that anyone here is feeling pretty ashamed and embarrassed and stressed and possibly depressed about this, and that any descriptions would help them feel less alone in a situation that is, yes, sickening, to say the least. I, for one, do not appreciate being told that stories about anal discharge are unwelcome in a thread about anal discharge. Read official medical websites, or even the directions on a tube of ointment, and the language is so vague and genteel as to be practically useless. Apply it where? How much? With what? If we can't be direct here, then where can we be? Sorry if anyone has been offended by me. I've probably said enough, but yes, my symptoms are basically very similar to what Roborg described, and I'm now on my second brand of probiotics. I've heard that probiotics can make the situation a bit worse before it gets better, so I'm patiently waiting.

Not sure why Dan thinks we took a wrong turn?? I am 48 close to Roborg, I like Roborg have 1 bowel movement per day, I like Roborg, is athletic and eats a diet healthier than the average American. I like Roborg has , had what would describe as an irritated anus that some could describe as pain. I like Roborg has had many doses of antibiotics but cannot remember exactly when the discharges occurred because I  believe I have had them since being very young. I like Roborg have to wipe a lot after hours of going even if the bowel movement seemed ok, many times a day a small discharge would seem to slowly drip out and cause me to want to go & wipe off in the mens  room.  The antibiotics were given to me early in life, so I cannot remember if I reacted shortly after the first second or at all. Could the antibiotics have burned out or damaged the intestines, maybe, pretty hard to tell? . Or could the   antibiotics made an unknown food allergy much worse or even yet the antibiotics created a disease??,,,,, maybe. I do not think anybody even doctors can answer that question and know for sure. I am trying to look at ( Dans angle). It could be possible. But to say I am off track I would not agree. The symptoms are pretty close, and not everybody will react to a condition exactly the same way. From my last 1.5 years of personnel experience of actually trying to address the problem head on. I thought I could give some insight to help people with a similar problem. Do I know where the problem originated ? NO. I have only learned that food sensitivities are playing a role in the symptoms. Not eating certain foods seems to help the conditions 90 to 100%. Now has Roborg made a food diary?  Did he go on a non grain & dairy free diet? Did he stop known food irritants? Until then you can not  prove me wrong . (It should not be who is right or who is wrong it should be about finding an answer , end result). Many people do not want to hear about not eating normal tasty food. It is too inconvenient. They want to hear that a doctor will give them a magic pill an it will go away. Not happening. And if he really knew what was going on do you think he could fix it??? Maybe the the flora balance could fix it. But if after a couple a weeks you need to move on to plan B . Good luck with western medicine on this one.  :|

Sorry for another post so quick , but I forgot to mention Behindit. I totally agree with his comments. When do you draw the line? Where do we have to go? We are all feeling pretty bad about things as it is. We should listen to what we all have to say because it can be of some help, even if its just mental support.  :|

@The Cure.

Look. I'm not trying to offend anyone here. I think it's great that there's people out there that share the same issue as us, however, not everyone inherited this problem the same way. We will be going in circles if everyone who has a general anus discharge (from different causes) threw out an idea they came up with. I'm just saying stick with what we know about what Roborg mention and work from there.

You are free to do as you please, I'm just trying to help. That's all.

The CURE!

I had this same problem for 2 years and even had an out patient surgery for hemroids for it..even thought I barely had one.

I went to a holisitc type doctor and cured it in two weeks.

Here is what to do.

1. Your intestines are off, probably from antibotics.  Go to the local health store and buy some good bacteria (50million to 80million per capsule) that is in the refrigerator.  Get one that is refrigerated, they need to be to live.  Get a month supply.

2.  Go buy Keifer Yogurt Drink.  It is a liquid yogurt with tons of added bacteria.

3. Go buy some fiber...powder form or another kind.

4. Get some jock itch or medicated powder for jock itch and ring worm.  This is sold at all pharmacies in the jock itch or athletes foot area.

That's it - maybe $50.

What is going on is you have a digestive imbalance that could have lead to a yeast infection in the anus and rectum as well.

For two weeks, drink a cup of kiefer yogurt in the morning and night with a bacteria bill each time.  So twice a day your are doing a cup of Kiefer yogurt drink with a good bacteria pill.

Fiber - Started taking it once a day with a cup of water and it firmed up my stool alot.

For the same two weeks use the athlete's foot powder twice a day in your thighs, anus area and a butt crack.  Maybe when getting dressed in the morning and at night..just rub it on like you would baby powder.

My problem was gone in 2 weeks.  I don't know if it was all the good bacteria going back in my system ( I had been on antibotics for Lyme) that needed to be replenished or if it was also the anti-yeast powder that killed any bacteria I had creating wetness in my anus area, but that combo completely healed me.

My stool is normal and harder now, no leakage, no sweating.  I feel great...it is almost like getting lasic from wearing glasses.  You wake up normal after two weeks and you totally forgot what it was like NOT to have this problem and take normal poops and wipes and be done.

Plus, is about $50 in costs and two weeks of an easy routine,...get your intestine full of good bacteria and get the bacteria or yeast out of your private areas.

I hope this helps, I was desparate too, but it can be fixed.

PS-  I noticed drinking dairy, which would give me gas, seamed to inflame the area and irritate things, so lay off dairy during those two weeks too.

What refrigerated probiotics did you use FoundTheCure? Also, is the jock strap really that necessary? Are you cured for good or do you have to keep taking the probiotics?

REGARDING ANAL LEAKAGE: It sounds like what I have been experiencing as well, but found a great deal of help by determining mine was Intestinal Yeast infection/growth (candida). Here is the portocol that I used: Candida Clear from NOW vitamins - I only used it for 10 days because the yeast die off causes "depression."I read all the reviews on amazon before buying it. NOTHING with sugar in it- sugar feeds yeast and helps it grow. Nothing that will turn to sugar (white flour, white....) Honey is acceptable substitute - just nothing that will enable yeast to grow or feed it. Probiotic regiment - PB8's. I took about 4-6 at each meail for a few days until bowel movments were under control. a holistic practitioner told me 14 days ought to clear up most intestinal yeast problems. Some recommend colonic irrigation - I don't know anything about that, but it sounds like it would work. This yeast problem may be a symptom of a larger problem called "leaky gut."

Seems to me the starting point is extra fibre.

Eat plenty of fresh veg, and a banana day.

If you need to supplement fibre try coconut flesh - you can get it fairly cheap in dehydrated form. Psyllium husk has a bad reputation with some people, whereas coconut is very nutritious - side issue with saturated fat, but that doesn't bother me. Have a look at this link:
