I have had light headedness off and on for the past 3 years. I mostly happens when I start to run. After lots of tests and MD's not sure what it is, I am sure it is GERD related. I have been a runner for many years and never had this problem up until now. When I take deep breaths it goes away. When my GERD symptoms subside I do not have the light headedness when I run. It does not happen when I am not exercising.
Hi Guys,
I am Denver from Philippines. I'm pretty sure that unexplained lightheadedness in my case is caused of the acid from the stomach. I have diagnosed also with GERD last 2009 4th quarter and I have a battle on it for several months. Random pain in the stomach and lightheadedness. Oh c**p! I feel like I'm dying that time. I even could not concentrate with my work then but I am still attending to work despite of that. Sometimes I blamed it to anxiety which for sure had attacked me. I treated it with a lot of drugs recommended by my doctor and change my lifestyle for diet and have some exercises. I enrolled to the gym then. Surprisingly, my battle lasts 2010 1st quarter I think. It had just went away and did not happen for 2 years. I even celebrate the day where I first diagnose with GERD just to be thankful that I am still alive haha... Howevrer, seems GERD is a chronic one. Just a few weeks ago, I suddenyl experience again the lightheadedness I experience during my GERD times. So instead of being anxious again and worry. I just let go with the flow in my body system and take some antacid medicines and somehow it works for me and now I am still monitoring when will it happen. Good luck to us! :)
I had the same problems for years. I found a good chinese doctor that gave me xiao yao san. It is called liver chi stagnation invading the stomach. Usually it give you lightheaded, Dizziness, diarhea (if Stomach is strong) or constipation (if Liver is strong), GERD, burping after eating or when strssed out. It sucks. The worst part is that I went through several chinese doctors too. Go to old ones that did their studies in China and don't speak English very well. Get a translator from their office. They are doctors like the regular doctors. Good and bad.... Have to keep going
wow it sounds like i wrote these symptoms because i have alot of the same symptoms and meds. any ways i went to a chiropractic place and they treated me for vertigo for the light headed and dizzyness, i also take serc. i have tried nexium and found it does nothing as well for the stomach. try cutting up raw ginger and make a tea out of it, seems to work. i also went to a health store and got capiscum tablets (cayene powder) and as crazy as it sounds it helped alot with my stomach. p.s. i used to drink gavascon by the gallon
we are supposed to be 80% alkaline and 20% acidic by nature. but due to our lifestyle and the things we eat we have made our body 80% acidic and 20% alkaline. I have tried apple cider vinegar. a few drops in a full glass of water. morning and evening. and it has worked for me. when we take tablets they are destroying the natural system of our body for digestion etc. hence tablets are leading to more problems and making us weak. try to keep body more alkaline and see the difference. eat what is easy to digest by the body. fatty foods are difficult to digest.
Maybe its a sign of gluten intolerance?? I am Coeliac but I know people who have symptoms without being Coeliac.
I also get unexplained light-headedness.....and now I may have to consider it is anxiety, even though I wouldn't say I am anxious. About the acid reflux, I know from people who suffer that condition, that using Slippery Elm from the health shop helps greatly. It is harmless, so can be used with your medicine.
There is now a strong lot of evidence to say that many people are getting non coeliac gluten sensitivity. I am coeliac, but my daughter has this condition. Her endoscopy did not show coeliac, but if she eats anything with gluten in the food, she gets extremely tired and bloated, as well as gastro symptoms. If its not this, then must be whatever they are putting in the bread these days???
