I am a 19 year old, female college student living the typical college life. After a weekend of pretty heavy drinking, I woke up very nauseous which is unusual for me. Throughout the day I experienced sharp pains in my upper abdominals, making it difficult to yawn, laugh, or cough. It only really hurt when standing up, especially walking. The next day it seemed as though my pain was a little better but it moved to focus on my right abdominals. The next day the pain almost left my abdominals but instead was found all around my ribcage, getting sharp pains whenever I breathed in deeply. I was able to run to the gym, about 7 minutes, and play volleyball. This morning I woke up with the same pains, and from the time I have been awake the pain had gone from my lower back to my ribcage an upper abdominals again. Nothing hurts when sitting or laying down. Any ideas what this could be? The symptoms are so inconsistent but every day the pain seems to be a little bit better.
im in the same boat. for over a year i have had unexplained abdominal pain. it varies throughout different locations but primarily is on the right upper side. i drank pretty heavily 5 days ago and have had some discomfort througout the week. yesterday i woke up with a pain shooting down from my lower right rib cage to around my pelvis. other times i have had what seems like stomach/intestinal pain even when i am sitting down and i have to hunch over. my heart rate increases and i feel a little perspiration. sometimes it goes away after an hour, and walking it off helps on occasion. i have had multiple ultrasounds done and nothing has been found, i have yet to see a gastrointerologist but that is probably next on my list

Dear jroshg, I also has experienced what you went through. I went to the ER after a couple nights of sleeping in the upright position because the pain was so bad. After tests were ran I had a severe UTI that spread to a major infection in my kidneys. Best of luck to you, hope everything is ok.
