If you read the majority of the posts here you will see that it is not parasites or worms.... FYI. That's been ruled out by everyone who's gone to the doctor for this. Mine ceased a couple weeks ago.
I had posted a while ago about same symptoms and most recently started a new diet approach in which I am cutting out dairy products. Coincidence or not the rolling sensations have disappeared, along with loose stools and about eight pounds of weight!
aside from starting a new diet or going to the doctor.. I realised it must be air that is making the movement and was able to give myself immediate relief of the strange fluttering symptons by simply forcing a burp whenever possible. Almost immediatly the fluttering was less sever. I did not swallow air to create a burp. I only flexed my stomach muscles and gradully forced the air out in a burp. I did this until the fluttering sensations subsided completly .. funny thing the burps didn't stop they just got smaller and further apart. A good burp will feel a lot better than that weird fluttering sensation or like something is crawling around under your ribcage.
how I came to this conclusion? the symptons described in most of these postings started a few days ago and became very flared up today after I ate my favorite pizza with pepproni & gr. olives and a cold beer St Pauli Girl a very skunky beer for what its worth! Yes it was as good as it sounds. How can I give that up for a no dairy, no alchohol diet no thanks. I would just try to burp the air out of your stomache without swalling any more air to create a burp. I wouldn't try this with food in the pipe still you might accidently bring some back up, let any food you just ate settle into your stomache as much as possible first.
If you just have gas/air trapped or pinched like I did after several good burps your symtoms should start to feel less sever. keep releasing burps until the weird sensations under your ribcage subsides completely... then enjoy another beer on me! L'Chiam
I went to the doctor. They did a CT scan of the chest and stomach. They found nothing, but suggested that I go to my gasteronologist. I went to him and he laughed when I said someone suggested that I had parasites. He asked if I was out of the country and then asked if I had diarrhea and I said no. He said you would have loose stools constantly and would loose weight. He then scheduled a endoscopy, a scope of the upper stomach and esphagus. He found nothing too dramatic. He found an erosion in the esphagus which is caused by reflux. He put me on Dexilant before I eat and told me to stay away from soda and citrus food and drink plenty of water. This is what mine was, but everyone is different and should see a doctor.
peristalsis feeling your food digest
I have been experiencing the same thing during my workouts when I'm hunched down (yoga positions or spin classes when I'm clenching my core muscles). I have to straighten back up and it seems to go back into place. I've had a baby but am not pregnant now, trust me! I told my GYN and she sent me for an ultrasound of the URQ (upper right quadrant). She thought it might be gall stones. Ultrasound came back negative so I'm still baffled as to what this could be!
did you get any answers.....cause i am experiencing this now too! Just ate...but this is wierd
I stopped eating most dairy products for other reasons and simultaneously realized that the stomach rumblings were gone. I think it was the yogurt.
I've been getting a severe pain right below the middle of my ribs, between the breasts where it splits to left and right, Since i was 7yrs old. The pain gets so bad that it wakes me up every morning crying an some mornings to the point where i cannot stand, i have to stay curled in a ball until the pain will decrease for me to stand in an upward postion. If i push on it, it hurts an i have tears, also it makes me stop breathing for a quick second, i know its not gas, there is something there. I am now 20. I've went to plenty of doctors, ive even moved to another province to see if they would have the foggyest clue of what it is. I've had a ultrasound twice, barium swallow, an soon going for a camera. Tryed several types of medication nothing works. I do smoke marijuana to be honest it seems to lighten the pain so i dont cry in pain every day. I really just need some answers, can anyone help me? Please?
Did you find out what was moving in your upper abdomen? I am experiencing the fluttering and moving in my upper left abdomen, I am worried . Please respond. Thanks, Deborah
I have the same symptoms that all have described I have many digestive problems, such as acid re-flux and slow digestion. recently many tests were ran and I was diagnosed with Superior Mesenteric artery syndrome This is where the aortic and mesenteric artery pinches the duodenum (Part of the small intestine , it is also know by other more common names such as wilkie syndrome) I do not eat dairy products, so I don't believe the cause of this movement is due to that. My doctor has said when the food I've eaten has trouble passing through the duodenum it will cause this thumping feeling. The duodenum is located on your right side just below your rib cage.
I have the same thing. something feels like its moving right by my right side ribs. I shouldn't be pregnant; I'm a guy ;). Also I do have diarrhea and have for 4 days now. no bugs in stool... that I see. Also, i'm not sure if this is related or not, but i have a tender spot about 3 inches below and close to the center line of my abs. It's only skin deep though, so I may have bruised it. It hasn't gotten better, but I'm massaging the heck out of it and It's quite possibly me that's agitating it. but yeah, I have the same feeling you all have. I wouldn't be surprised if it was parasites because I ferment a lot of food and I'm usually sloppy about it. perhaps try oil of oregano?
