I'm having a lot of sensitivity lately on my "downstairs" area. When I urinate lately, for maybe the past...month or so, I've been feeling some sensitivity and a slight burning ON the skin. I know for sure it isn't a UTI because 1.) I know how the pain of a UTI and this isn't it. 2.) I got a culture from my gynecologist and had a urine sample which both came back normal. I've been seen by my gyno about this but nothing has really amounted from it. She said she saw no signs of infection and that everything looked normal. On the 30th of this month I will be seeing her again but that's nearly a week from now. I'm going to get a pap smear and hopefully discuss this some more with her then but in the meantime I was hoping someone could give me some peace of mind. Yahoo Answers isn't much help. :-(
I'll give a little background info about me if it helps. I'm 17 and sexually active with one guy. It's just been him for the past 8 months. The only medication I take is my birth control called Azurette that I've been taking for a year and 2 months. The sensitive areas are around my perineum and posterior fourchette. They've also been reddish from time to time but the redness has gone down. I've been tested for most stds with normal results. I've tried using really mild soaps as my gyno recommended but it's still sensitive. I've never had this problem before in my life and can't understand why this is happening now.
Any advice/info will be much appreciated.

If you have any raw areas, urine will burn and sting.
When I was stretching my foreskin so it would retract over the glans, I created stretch marks on it and they burned like h*ll when I got urine on them.

So you think it's just raw? Did you get prescribed any creams or medication?
No I didn't see any doctors about it I just waited for it to heal. I did wrap it in toilet paper to protect it from rubbing on my underwear. That was many years ago.
Today I do get raw irritated spots from wiping my hemroids with toilet paper. I use Hydrocortisone cream for that. It works amazingly well. If I put it on at night the sore spots are gone the next day.

Eh I dunno. I'm really getting frustrated about this. The only thing my gyno suggested was to get a skin biopsy in the area but I'm kindof willing to do anything but that because someone told me that it would make me sore and I wouldn't be able to have sex for a while. Has anyone here had a skin biopsy down there?
One thing you can do is to get a small peri bottle and rinse off the entire area and dry it gently. I use Cottenelle with aloe as it soothes the skin. It's a toilet paper for sensitive. Then get Azo yeast pills. They are probiotics which keeps your system in the right balance.
I think you may be allergic to some toilet papers like me. Once the sensitivity takes hold in the vulva it takes quite a while to get rid of it. I go through bouts of this due to using public toilets and not being able to rinse. BTW a peri bottle is just a bottle with a nozzle and you sqeeze it to squirt the water on you. Just use normal water in a temp you feel comfy. I also use Vaginex powder to keep the area dry. I hope this helps.

Get some tea tree oil. Put a few drops in a bowl of water, then soak a soft cloth in the mixture and use it to clean the area that feels burned. It will even work on a yeast infection. It's an Australian remedy. Works great!
if you are having a lot of sex you are probably very irritated from the friction of intercourse. friction=raw. then when you urinate it will burn until it heals. if you have sex again before it completely heals you are causing more rawness. maybe try different positions with less friction rub. or use lubricant to reduce friction rubs
It could be something related to a moderate kidneys disease, have your urine tested for kidney disease.
when I was young I was told by my gyno that some women are sensitive to their partners ejaculations and it is actually causing skin irratation. I also have irratation and at times use diaper cream on skin downstairs, it puts protective layer on area, keeps moisture out.
I am 68, and the past three months I have the same thing with the same lab reports, it comes and goes with me, the urine does burn the outside of the private area , also the bowel movements are toxic to my skin, I have had to get a Prescription to help heal it. This I see is happening to a lot of people now, and it seems like its a new thing that Dr's have not come across yet. I do have hemroids, and I have had the same ones for 40 years. That I assure you it not the reason for this! I am still looking for a reason, If I find out what causes it I will rewrite. I am gluten intolerant , but my daughter and Granddaughter are Cilic , and they don't have this problem. I am having trouble with digestion, and set up for lots of tests
Great advice everyone
Could it be LS?
Did you find anything to heal the areas??
I have had a biopsy down there! Only tender a few days. You’ll be fine:)
