I had the ablation surgery in 2006 for help with heavy periods. Im pretty sure I had the Novasure. I had no periods after the surgery, but severe adominal cramping, bloating, intercourse discomfort....then I started having problems with urine frequency. I had the urge to go all the time. I went to the doctor. They said now my uterus is very enlarged and probably pushing on the bladder. So..within years just a few years later ended up having a hysterectomy. I would reccomend to anyone to just have the hystrectomy and not mess with all the ablation complications. I was wondering if anyone else has ever had issues with their bladder too??

i had this procedure done in 2009 i do not recomend it too anyone ! if i could go back i would rather be dealing with monthly periods instead ! after thesurgery the 1st 6 months were good , no bleeding but definetly losts of bloating and a lil cramping around my normal period time but it was good to me becuse i was not bleeding then the next few months brought really really bad cramps around my period tiem but still no bleeding so i suffered every month for teh next year or so with major cramping and back pain for about a week and a half i finally went back to the doctor he did an ultra sound and said i had blood in my uterus caused by a perferation on my uterus lining during surgery one in a hundred women have this happen ! so he did a D and c to clean me out and fix it i was good for a few months for liek 3 months after the d and c i had very light periods and no cramps now i havent had any bleeding for months again and am starting to get lower back pain and cramping again !! the doctor stated that if i fill up with blood again id have to get a hysterctomy so im going this friday too see him i will keep u posted! also ...... i am a VERY clean person but since the surgery ive had alot of vaginal discharge and odor a very strange odor i have to keep vaginal wipes handy !! i would give second thoughts before doing this surgery

nope....it was in lieu of hysto, and now i wish i had had hysto and just have been done with it...had endo ablation in 2008....life threateningly anemic in 2010 had transfusions and iron shots.....now i'm afraid i might have hematometra......know for sure my bloodwork was good before i went into OR for it as i had my tubes tied also....developed low back pain, now i'm being worked up for urinary incontience and pelvic organ prolapse....i find it ironic i did everything possible not to have kids, yet i now have a uterus the size of beginning 2nd trimester due to subserosal fibroids....endo ablation does nothing for those....looking back i was an id**t and did not ask thoughtful questions...i just approached it like a "point and click' easy procedure in comparison to hysterectomy. there are no easy answers or quick fixes....and please remember EVERYTHING has caveats...do your research...it's pretty much a gamble....now i know there is endo ablation syndrome and my pains began shortly after endo ablation. that was in 2008. my GYN was less than helpful....I'm at a university teaching hospital now and they are more kind and thorough and we're going to get to the bottom of this....i also wonder about endometriosis. won't know more til i know more....GOOD LUCK!!!

this is how I feel. If i could I would take the entire procedure back and go for the hysterectomy. I haven't felt right since the novasure ablation/ D and C/tubal ligation.

I just have a question. How did they perform the procedure? Did they use freezing, heat, balloon, ect? I was wondering if that makes a difference. I'll be having the procedure soon.
