Hey guys
I'm a 24 year old male. I am 5'5" 185 lbs, ex bodybuilder. I am a professional Tattoo artist with two stepchildren and a beautiful wife. No prior health problems that I am aware of...

About 60% of my days, not every day, I feel as follows.... I feel great in the morning and early day. In the late afternoon, early evening, I begin to feel shakiness, nausea, headache, some dizziness, almost an achiness at times. This will last until I go home and take a shower around 8-8:30 pm. This is not everyday, but most days.

Please note, that I am not the whiney, high maintenance type. I can handle a little bit of pain and crappy feelings, but no this is borderline miserable since its everyday and inexplicable.

I eat plenty to get my daily nutrients, I drink over a gallon of water a day, I sleep from 10pm-5:30am everyday, I don't booze or do drugs. I haven't smoked cigarettes in a year and a half, I quit vaping 2-3 months ago and don't drink ever hardly as of a month ago. I drink one cup of coffee every morning. Every blue moon, I will suffer from a acid reflux, heartburn situation for a day or two but no biggie. I do not take any medications or have any medical conditions. I mainly only experience this at the Tattoo shop, but not everyday

Some of my suspicions include: an allergy at the Tattoo shop? Hypoglycemia? The lighting in the Tattoo shop?

Please please help thank you!

Hi Dustin,

I'd be wondering about your blood sugar levels too.  What happens is you eat something with sugar in it?  Do you feel better?

See your doctor.  They can do several tests, likely including a "fasting" blood sugar level to see how your body is responding.

Hope it helps.

I don't notice much difference with sugars such as candy orange juice carbs etc. I eat full meals at 8 am 12 pm 4 pm and 8 pm everyday plus snacks occassionally

OK.

What about on your days off? How do you feel then? Could it be something you are exposed too?

Thats the interesting thing. On my days off I seem to normally be perfect. The only things I am really exposed to are nitrile gloves, maybe something in the air, florescent lighting...

It can be the lighting. Lots of people have problems with fluorescent lights. Sometimes it is the glare but it can also be the color of the lighting.

Can you do something to change the lighting you are exposed to?

The only thing I could do is buy a different bulb but I guess regardless it'll be the 4ft long shop light

It might be worth trying.

When I was 24 I had the same thing. Like, if I ate pancakes in the morning I would be dizzy around a few hours later. Also, if I had a snack or soda without food. I ate less carbs in the morning and avoided sugar during the day. I believe I had reactive hypoglycemia. Now, I'm 43 and have Panic attacks that feel exactly like low blood sugar. I also get dizzy when I'm shopping and I think it's due to the lighting.
