I was paranoid about having HPV, so I tried the apple cider vinegar test. However, I stupidly forgot to dilute the vinegar and applied it via cotton ball all over the bottom half of my vagina. I went to a doctor the same day, who said the bumps were normal (caused by estrogen, mine just happened to be very pronounced). Today, I felt a little burning from the inside and noticed a small cut on the outside of my vagina, not anywhere near the entrance. Could this be herpes or is it more likely I dried my vagina out with the vinegar?
Hi there! It's probably caused by vinegar. It can't harm you. Some of the earliest symptoms can include: an itching or burning sensation, pain in the legs, buttocks, or genital area, vaginal discharge, a feeling of pressure or fullness in the abdominal area. Do you have these symptoms too?

There is SOME burning, but it isn't unbearable. There isn't any itching and I haven't noticed any new bumps. I'm hoping my vagina is just irritated that I even though putting vinegar down there was a good idea. Do you know how long it'll take for the vinegar's effects to wear off? I plan on getting checked in a few days if I'm not feeling 100% better and I heard sometimes the vinegar can cause scarring.

Well, I'm not sure how long will it take, but you can apply some baby oil on the dry area after taking a shower, while your skin is still damp. It will moisturize your skin and relieve the burning.
