My friend has some white spot on his back. At first, we didn’t know what it is. At the end, we found out it was vitiligo. His dermatologist said that. I know that it is caused by losing a skin pigment in certain areas. I would like to find out something more. I would appreciate all the info I can get. Thanks.
Vitiligo is a chronic disorder. It is indeed a loss of pigmentation in skin cells. This depigmentation appears in patches in skin. It is a form of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. It can also be associated with hyper- or hypofunction of the thyroid gland. It can be associated with certain genes. It is usually treated with UV radiation and some other substances. I am not sure about other details. Your friend should consult his dermatologist for more info. Bye!
