Hello! My boyfriend has 1st, 2nd, and (very little) 3rd degree burns from a grease fire explosion. He can't have nicotine and wants to know if he can smoke marijuana. He's taking oxycodone for pain.
I am so sorry to hear that your boyfriend went through such an ordeal with a grease fire and sustained bad burns because of it. Is the oxycodone doing anything at all for the pain? I know that 3rd degree burns can be difficult to manage the pain for. I don't know a whole lot about medicinal marijuana, but I have read where cannabis is helpful in relieving pain from severe burns. I know that Colorado has just legalized the use of cannabis but I am unsure where else it is legal. You will be able to use it where ever it is legalized.
Thank you! Not really sure if it's helping, since he just left the hospital today and hasn't had a chance to take it without all the injections the hospital was giving him. It's just that one hit of a cigarette will slow down the healing process by 50%. So since he's a daily cigarette smoker, it's hard on him, and weed would be a good substitute and might make him feel a little better.
Yes, he should stay away from anything that will keep him from healing sooner! He will heal quicker if he takes in more protein since protein is needed for tissue healing. I hope he recovers quickly!
My partner has second degree burns on his face and I just want to know what will happen if he keeps smoking cigs, will it stop the healing process?

Yes, He can smoke marijuana just no nicotine with it. Hemp wraps, papers, or a bong ONLY.

Hello friends I read many things about marijuana but it's not much evident that it can save your burns from injuries.
