My friend has these "episodes". i don't know how to describe them, but it's like for a few minutes she goes off into another world. If you talk to her she is responsive but often says something random not relevant to anything. She tries to fight it off and often doesn't remember what she has said while she's been having it. They are completely random, sometimes she has a few a day other times she doesn't have any for a few days. she's been having alot of them lately and I'm worried for her as she has them sometimes when she is driving.

She's been to the doctor and they've done brain scans and what not and haven't come up with anything.

Any ideas???
Has amyone responded to you about this question? My husband experiences very similar symptoms, and it freaks me out. 17 years ago he had a closed brain injury, but these are only in the past 2 years. Have you learned anything more about your friend's condition?

I'm new here and not trying to diagnose anyone, but have either patients had a simple eeg (not an mri or ct-scan)? The one where they paste the wires to the head? I highly suggest going to epilepsy.com and looking up simple and complex Partial seizures. The friend sounds exactly how my husband describes the "seizures" that I currently have. They are nothing like TV. I actually went into a partial coma from them before I was diagnosed 5 months ago. I never would have guessed. I hope it all works out. Oh, and she shouldn't drive until she knows!
