I had a tapeworm!  I am a 43 year old female. I have experienced this fluttering under my right rib cage about two years ago, and again last year.  This was followed by these symptoms:

Fatigue

Vision Problems

Memory Problems

Enlarged Abdomen

Nausea

Doctors did many test, all came back normal. (including stool). I became convinced it was a parasite when my two teenage daughters began complaining of same symptoms.  Again doctors could not find anything.    I ordered parasitin, and about my symptoms started going away.  After three weeks a glob of mucus came out when urinating. (probably nest and egg materials) then tapeworm debri came out over the next few weeks.    I know it is disgusting, but apparently doctors are not good at diagnosing parasites!

ALL symptoms have now completely disappeared for everyone in my home.

I've had these flutters for years plus headaches. An Osteopath FINALLY found out that my rib was dislocated causing both symptoms. So I would see a chiropractor :)

I had stabbing/kicking pains on my left side under my rib for several days. I could not figure out what it was. A few days ago I noticed a rash on my side that hurt, and the entire area felt like a sunburn. Then I remembered I went through this about five years ago, but up on one of my shoulders. I went to the Dr and they checked it out and said it was Zoster, aka Shingles. It is what I have again. The rash is starting to blister, and with luck this will be over in a week or two. I'm quite sure the stabbing pains which were worse, but are subsiding, are nerve endings involved in the area of where the shingles hit. I have had friends with far worse cases, but if you have those odd symptoms, consult a Doc to see if it's Shingles.

Many posts here are describing symptoms associated with Roemheld syndrome aka: gastric-cardia. I suggest you research RS, and see if symptoms matches yours. I have read posts here and elsewhere, complain of a quicker pulse, irregular heartbeat, sweating, breathe difficulty, panicky etc, and those complaints appear to be symptoms of RS. Check with your doctor and ask him/her to consider if RS or gastric-cardia may be the cause. Cabbage is thought to help with RS. Eating of course, not rubbing it on your stomach area.

I am 33 and I have had this fluttering for about 2 years. I finally went to my doctor for annual check up and asked him about it and did some blood work, then put me on vitamin D. He said, I am really low on vitamin D and that will cause the fluttering. After about a month I haven't had it sense.

Its something no one should take lightly. I have acute pancreatitis and all of a sudden my pancreas has been fluttering. It would be very wise to see a Dr.
