Same here. Quivering vibration movement right below ribcage on left side. Lasts for maybe 10 secs at a time and can return multiple times sporadically within a few hours. No pain. Sensations seems to originate just below skin. This is my 3rd time getting it. First time was less than a year ago. 2nd time lasted a few days if I remember right. Don't think I'm pregnant as I'm a 29 y/o male.

Sounds like it is happening a lot to people (I found this web site doing a google search on the same symptoms). I have the same baby-flutter feeling, right under my left ribs and sometimes I feel like I can't bend in that area (like a balloon is in there). No one seems to have an answer yet....very strange!

It's amazing to me just how many people are going through this. I'm 23 years old in good shape 5'9 and naturally skinny at 126 pounds. I get a pressure bubble feeling under left rib and when I press on it or massage it I can actually hear and feel bubbles moving but they never seem to go away. It literally never goes away. I've had it now for 5 years. Been to the Er about 5 times for them to just send me home with Metamucil or other c**p that doesn't do anything. My other symptoms are now, constipation/diarrhea. Lethargic. With the way I eat and drink water only I feel as if I should be the epitome of health! If I ever find out what's causing this I will shout it to the world because I fully understand how uncomfortable this is.

I have a feeling it is from constipation or gas buildup in the gastric system. Maybe try taking Gasgon or Gasgone, most pharmacies have it. It may be worth trying, if it works you know that is the cause.

I have the same feeling as the rest of the posters. I have a feeling it is a result of gas buildup. If you have constipation that is most likely the case or any other issues with regard to having a bowel movement such as not going every day than I think this is the answer.
Test would be to take a product which reduces gas, all pharmacies will carry something to relieve this strange sensation.

I meant to type "then I think" not "than" . Too many people using than rather than then, my bad.

Those of you who have had this for some time may want to considering asking your doctor if you have Roemheld syndrome. However I would try a over the counter medication which relieves gas in your system first which could be causing bloating thus the strange fluttering sensation we are experiencing. If after taking the gas reliever the symptom goes away then you are probably good, if it continues then maybe ask your doctor about the syndrome and see if you should be tested for it.
I am not an expert I simply found Roemheld Syndrome while researching this issue which I have had for the past month. I have not tried a gas reliever yet, this is my first day searching on the net.
Best of luck to all, would love to hear your results.

One thing which may be the cause for some of us, chewing gum which causes air to build up, try burping out the excess air and see if that take care of the fluttering feeling.

UPDATE: I did some burping and it took care of the fluttering, may work for you as well. Don't be too concerned about Roemheld Syndrome, which I mentioned above, until you have dealt with the excess air or gas which may be in your system.
Glad I figured it out for me, hope it works for you, it is annoying at best.

I've been taking gas x extra strength every single day along with herbal laxatives. But it's still an on going issue for me. I've never heard of roemheld syndrome, but I will give it a look!! Thank you.

I figured out the problem while I was typing my answers, for me it turned out to be a result of chewing a lot of gum since I quit cigarettes. Of course chewing gum makes you swallow a lot of air, once I started burping to get rid of the air the feeling went away.
Have you given that a try?
i would not be real concerned about the Romheld syndrome until you have exhausted all the practical common sense things such as the possibility of a food allergy creating gas, certainly there is something creating either gas or air in your upper bowel, if not research the syndrome. I stopped reading about it once I figured out what worked for me.
Best of luck and please let me know how things work out for you.

I've kept a food diary, I'm gluten free, I cut out all dairy, and only drink water or orange juice. I always feel like I need to burp but it doesn't really come out. It's just constantly trapped, it's at its worst right when I wake up. I guess it must be a medical issue for me :(.

I sometimes have the same issue, there are times when I simply cannot burp. Work on it, learn how to burp so you can let the air or gas out of your system. You will eventually get it and hopefully it will solve the issue for you.
