Hello, I am a 24 year old woman in good health, and my husband and I have been smoking weed every night for the past week or so from a glass pipe. Before this I smoked it occasionally. These past few days I've noticed a heartburn-type feeling and a slight burning in my sinus passageways and ears. I had a really sore throat once from smoking, but my husband said I probably inhaled some of the butane from the lighter. Any ideas? Could my symptoms be linked to my increased usage? Thank you!
I just happened upon your question from a gogle search for something totally unrelated... I fugured I'd chime in for the benefit of anyone else who may be looking for an answer as well- I did't take note of when you posted so hopefully it hasn't been so long that you'll never see this LOL

I've been partaking for many years both medicinally and recreationally and have never heard of this from just smoking. I would say what you're experiencing is from using a butane lighter like your hubby said. It's sort of a common place thing amongst smokers that using butane is not a good idea. Try a regular old Bic or something similar and see if you have the same issue. Another option is that you could be sensitive to the toxins in the smoke itself. The best way ( safest and most beneficial health wise) to partake is by vaporizing. Do a web search for info on it... good stuff.

Be Careful Though... About the vaporizer. If you have never used one before, dont plan on going out. Using a vaporizer is better for you, but be prepared to be blazed out of your mind. Its comparable to eating weed in my opinon. It wont last forever, but the high will be way more intense at first than your glass pipe. Just do one bag at first so you dont noid yourself out.
