Hello!
Doctors say my 34 year daughter has polops on gallbladder. They found out that because she had pain in the abdomen area. I would like to know what polops are and what causes them.

Hello!
Polyps are growths in the organ, in your daughters case in gallbladder wall. Usually gallbladder polyps occur with the patients in their 70s and can become cancerous, but this is less possible. Polyps are usually benign and do not usually cause problems or complications. Polyps are usually caused by cholesterol (radiologists label polyps as small chunk of cholesterol), they are not living tissue and are lightly embedded in the gallbladder wall.

Could someone please tell me what bladder polyps are, what causes them, and what is the treatment, most generally? Thank you in advance. Tom
