For about 5 or 6 months I have been having major migraines and earaches. They come and go so I didn't think much of them, after all I am a stressed out teenage girl living in a filthy dorm, I'm bound to feel like hell once in a while. But they keep occurring. Also, for the last month or so, I have had a sore throat. On top of that, I have been getting dizzy at the oddest times. I will just be sitting down and I will feel like I just had a spinning contest with my 5 year old cousin. It happened once or twice over 4 month period, but now it has happened about 5 or 6 times in a little over a month. I hate going to the doctor but I will soon since I am feeling really bad. I would like to have some idea of what is going on when I go talk to her so she doesn't just think I am trying to skip class. If anybody has any ideas on what might be wrong with me, they would be greatly appreciated. I am a 16 year old girl, if that helps. Thanks in advance.
I am glad you will be seeing your doctor soon. The dormitory is breeding ground for community acquired infections such as Streptococcus pneumoniae which can cause sore throat and ear ache (otitis media). Dizziness and vertigo means that the inner ear has become infected (labyrinthritis). The sooner you get your infection treated the better. You may want to consider placing a HEPA filtration unit in your dorm room to clean up the air that you breathe.
