I know this is a fairly old post but will reply anyway. You should ask your doctor for a tilt table test. There is something called POTS syndrome, which stands for Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. There is also something called Dysautonomia. Worth looking into. I hope you can find an answer because being allergic to morning is no way to start every day of your life.

i didn't realize so many people felt nausea in the morning. I'm 18, and had it for a year and a half. I find it really embarrassing because if im with others i struggle to eat in the morning and have had to excuse myself to go throw up. I find it helps to eat a piece of toast with vegimite,l don't eat the crusts because I can't eat too much or else I feel worse. And I sip water.Usually if I've had breakfast I can eat a decent lunch but if i haven't I still feel sick at lunch and can only eat something small. If i can burp during the morning I always feel better, i usually feel really bloated.I've seen a doctor who ran a lot of blood tests and had an ultrasound on my stomach but apparently I'm healthy. I also find it lessens if I've been doing a lot of exercise, but i often find myself too busy, anyway will try the tea, im glad i'm not alone

I'm 25 and I have had this problem for about 3 years myself. I wake up in the morning get in the shower and usually as soon as i get out the nausea kicks in. Sometimes I can breathe my way through it but most times its futile and I just end up running for the toilet. I unfortunately don't have any health insurance at this point in time so I really cant get tested for anything but I have made some notes on how it happens and when.

First I thought it had something to do with the fact that I like to eat late at night. I was common for me to eat dinner around 11pm and go to bed around 1. This is not the case as I still vomit, just in liquid form.

Second thing I found is it never happens to me on the weekends. The only conclusion I could come up with was I normally sleep in on the weekends and wake up a couple times before I get up.

3rd and this could be due to eating late at night and be a separate issue when I do vomit the food is still pretty intact from the night before, sometimes it doesn’t seem to have much liquid behind it either which makes it very difficult to come out not to mention its very gross.

I've had an endoscope done and seen a doctor for my stomach before I lost my insurance and everything seemed normal. This can be a real inconvenience for people in the morning especially if it sneaks up on you right as your trying to leave to go to work.

i can't believe so many other people have this problem. i get nausea often in the morning but i think it's because i have acid reflux. i've actually noticed that if i eat really healthy (no refined sugars and no fried foods) it helps a lot. plus, i keep crackers or a banana by my bed and eat it first thing in the morning while i'm still in bed. if it's still bad, it always goes away by noon. it's really annoying and i find that when i'm stressed or anxious it's worse, but that's to be expected.
i would just try to eat healthy, get some exercise, and eat something first thing before you get out of bed and it should help. good luck!

Out of curiosity how many of you are smokers?
I just read something that says smoking can destroy the cilia in your lungs and wind pipe. This causes your body to not be able to get rid of mucus in a natural manner. For me this makes sense I smoke about half a pack a day and I smoke weed. The reason I say this makes sense is I usually cough before the throwing up begins and even the times I have fasted at night and still thrown up in the morning what came up was a yellow mucus like substance. Also I know the difference between throwing up and coughing up mucus and I can assure you it was coming from the stomach.

I cannot believe how many people this happens to. I am DEFINITELY going to go get a tilt test done/be tested for parasites. It's really awful how I just lay there and I even have a lump in my stomach that I can physically feel, i literally have to force myself to the bathroom, and some days I just have to keep going back to sleep.
This has only been giong on for the last few months. I was thinking maybe I have post nasal drip that could cause it, but I am no doctor.
It's really bad how I get made fun of at work because I come in talking about how crappy I feel everyday-- really no way to live at 22.
I am a smoker, so maybe it could be from that like the Guest said.
Oh- and what dr would you go to to get the tilt test done? I feel like people are always calling me me a hypochondriac and will laugh at me when I say I amg oign to see a doctor about this.
thank you everyone :-)

I just might be the youngest person on here - I'm nearly 17 years old and this has been going on for a very, very long time for me - years - but it comes and goes. I wake up feeling nauseous and it is a very subtle sick feeling in my stomach with stomach cramps. I try to eat right, so I don't know what could be causing this. I think I'm too young for it to be an ulcer, right? I have no idea. I'm experiencing it right now, and it is painful and very upsetting.

I'm 16, and I've been having this since I started high school. I asked my doctor about it immediately, and she told me it was just due to worry and stress over school and prescribed Fenigrin which helped, but I decided to stop taking them in the morning because I felt like dealing with the nausea was better than taking a stupid pill every morning. So, every morning I can't eat breakfast, and because of that I've managed to overeat later on in the day and gain 12 pounds. =[ Still, I don't think I would ever wish this upon anyone. As soon as I sit up, nausea just flows over me. Used to, I'd run straight to the bathroom and puke, but nowadays I can't even vomit. It's like the nausea just wants to torture me all day. Anyways, I'm lucky because mine now ends at around 9 AM or so, so I'm not suffering through half of my classes like I used to. It used to give me chronic diarrhea as well, but that's stopped too thankfully.

Also, this 'sickness' I get makes my mom angry. She thinks I fake it so I don't have to eat her food, and now won't even cook breakfast for the rest of the family. The smell of bacon immediately makes me run for the toilet. It just kills me, no matter what time of day it is. Eggs and sausages sort of have the same affect, but I can handle eggs better than sausages. Biscuits are fine too, and I could practically eat biscuits and gravy every morning if I could. Also, I stumbled upon breakfast pizza one day when I was at my Aunt's house. Even though it had a little bacon on it, the smell was amazing and my nausea went away long enough to eat about 2 slices or so. Breakfast Bowls are great too, and you can find them in any frozen food section.

I've tried the tea thing too, but I've found the caffeine worsens the nausea for me so I've cut out all liquid forms of caffeine from my diet. Propel, Gatorade and Vitamin Water are also great things to drink in the morning. It mellow out the sickness I feel long enough to eat something too.

Most of the time, I just bring food in my gigantic purse to school so I can eat in class whenever I feel hungry. Since I can't eat in the mornings and eat later on at school, I find myself severely hungry for the rest of the day as well at times. My friends always laugh at me and say that they can find anything in my purse because I'm always prepared, but I have to be if I expect to make it through the day. I always have about two-to-three food options to munch on, a water, and water-flavoring packets if I remember to pack them. Pop/Soda seems to make my nausea worse too besides Sprite, Root Beer or Sierra Mist, so I'm always drink some form of water too and the taste is just so bland if it's not cold. =[

I really want to know what's happening to all of us. And, about the smoking thing, I've never smoked a day of my life, but my Dad does. So, maybe the second-hand smoke can cause similar damage to my lungs too?

Hi There

I posted earlier in this thread and am wondering how many of you have been tested for the parasite blastocystis (stool test)? The reason I ask is that I had it and so did my dad and a friend's son. The son was 12 and vomited almost every morning for 2 yrs-they did every test in the book on him and found nothing major wrong but finally did a stool test (he didn't have diarrhea so they didn't do it at the beginning) and found blasto. He has been treated for it and is rapidly improving. My dad and I have both taken antibiotics for it and are greatly improved but are still having slight nausea (nothing like it was before).

I cant believe how many other people are experiencing the same thing as I am. I have been struggling with this for about 8 years; I'm 36. I wake up and almost every single morning I feel like I could throw up. I never do but I feel like I could at any moment. The majority of the mornings, I also have diarreha. Sometimes I force myself to eat something but most day's I cant eat. I go to work and suffer through hours of nausea until lunch and after I force myself to eat lunch I usually feel fine. The bad thing is that I seem to feel better after I eat "unhealthy" lunches, like cheesburger/fries. If I eat a salad or fruit the nausea doesn't go away.

I've had an endoscope-an upper g.i. test. The gastroentrologist said that everything looked fine and said I must have IBS-Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I think it was a cop out because he couldnt figure it out. He gave me some medicine for IBS but it didnt seem to help. I dont know what else to do. I'm just miserable and I feel like I'm missing out on life.

I am 29 and have exactly the same thing for a year and half now. Now this only lasts for a week and a half or so at a time but happens at least every 2-3 months.

I wake up feeling fine, i normally sit up in bed for 5 mins to wake up. Quite quickly i start to gradually feel sick to the point were I have to try not to vomit, if i have to work i just get up drink some water make some toast and hopefully i can eat it on the way to work. Gradually after eating i feel better then around lunch time about 80% of the time, but 20% i have no appetite at all.

The rest of the day and night im fine maybe a feel a bit bloated after a big dinner. One thing that ive found interesting is this all started around the time my girlfriend started working further away and subsequently we now have dinner around 9pm everynight.

Having said that i have had this in the past when i was 18 and it lasted for roughly a year. Exactly the same thing as well. I also knew what caused it back then (i think) i was on Risperdal for a drug induced psychosis (pot).

I quit the Risperdal because of the vomiting and after a few months the THC left my system and i had stopped being paranoid, also the vomiting stopped soon as i stopped taking risperdal.

Funny that now i have a kidney disease and part of this is to take high blood pressure medication and ever since that day in hospital ive had morning sickness on and off. I've tried two different drugs but i think that I am just one of those people who has an overly sensitive stomach and cant handle medication all the time.

Also i find when i go on anti-biotics or even pain killers for any length of time i get diarrhea.

Anyway i did notice i felt better when i took my medication straight after dinner at 9am - lately just two days ago the nausea started again and ive been very naughty and taking it at 11:30pm when i go to bed and drinking LOTS of coke.

Whats really sad is 3 years ago i was really healthy but i had chronic wisdom infections, i couldnt afford to get them out but eventually i could. Since then ive been diagnosed with kidney problems and i have severe lethargy sometimes and this vomiting. Right now i also have a goitre enlarged thyroid which the doctors have tested and confirmed is non-toxic yet its very uncomfortable and I have had it for 4 months now.

I am changing doctors now as have heard bad things from a paramedic friend about the one im visiting and whilst not a depressive person am trying really hard to stay positive when i feel like c**p so much.

Hope this info helps someone...

I am a 46 yr old female and have experienced early morning nausea since I was about 7 years old. The strange thing is that I only experience it if I have to wake up early in the morning. If I can sleep until around 7am I'm ok and I can drink coffee and eat whatever I want for breakfast. However if I have to wake up earlier than that I become very nauseous and have a very difficult time eating anything. This is very irritating because I have to wake up at 4:45 and eat something because I have to take medication. Then the drive to work seems to make it worse. It seems to last until about 30 min. after I force lunch down, it's the craziest thing ever! It's a good thing I only work 3 days a week! I'm happy to know other people are experiencing similar symptoms although I don't wish this upon anyone.

im 20 and i've had this since high school. i remember swim meets over the summer where my parents would yell at me to eat breakfast because if i didnt i wouldnt swim as well (no, they werent pushing me to swim i love swimming, they just wanted to see me do well). but imagine feeling sick, then having to EAT, then sprinting a 100m freestyle?
i have nausea in the morning but only if i wake up "too early." like one of the other posters said it does feel like im allergic to morning. if i wake up around 11 or 12 (weekends!!) i feel fine but on days that i get up even at 9am i feel like if i ingest ANYTHING solids or liquids im going to be sick. even as im writing this at 943 AM i feel like c**p. I know i should eat breakfast but i simply cannot bring myself to eat. there is this lump in my stomach area that not only is making me feel sick, but it hurts too. coupled with this but not related is the fact that i am ALWAYS thirsty, so first thing i have to do very morning is drink something, which only exacerbates the problem!!

Going to a doctor is sound advice, but the last time i had a "mysterious" pain and went to a doctor for it, they told me to take asprin constantly, advice i immediately ignored (partly because since i cannot eat breakfast, having 600mg of asprin first thing would do a number on my body). perhaps meditation and self healing will work, but i believe i'll just have to learn to live with this.

you wouldnt beleive how releived i am to see that i am not the only one. i am 18 and nearly 2 years ago was in hospital for vomiting blood. they still havnt found out why only suggesting stomach ulcers. i constantly feel ill i cannot help it. i suffer nausea in the mornings really bad. then all i can do is concentrate on not being sick but then when i move i have to ruin to the toilet because i cant stop heaving. my anti sickness meds do not work and i am on citalopram for anxiety. its a pain in the ass. the only time i have felt ok was last week when i was on diazepam. i also feel worse if i do not get up in myown time like if i am forced to do something i do not want to do or forced into waking up earlier than i want to for example going to college.
