Wow, people who are experiencing the same thing as me!!! I'm a 17 year old female and most mornings I wake up feeling anywhere from mildly nauseated to gagging and retching. It definitely is much worse when I don't get enough sleep. I had a bad stomach flu about 3 weeks ago and I thought for a while that the morning sickness was just residual from that but it's still going on, and my friends jokingly make fun of me saying I'm pregnant (there is NO possibility of that.)
If anyone figures something out do share! I'm sort of glad other people have the same problem :-)

The sickness is the worst fealling i've ever had and it only happens in the morning im fine the rest of the day? I never even got this type of sickness with me last two pregnancys i had easy pregnancys thank godness but i'm 100% sure i'm not pregnate Why would it hapen in the morning and i'm fine the rest of the day?? ? Have any of you checked blood sugar in the morning? Hypoglycemia (too low blood sugar) can cause nausea and faintness.

I am 19 years old (female) and have been having similar morning nausea. This doesnt happen everyday, but when it does it tends to span out over the course of a week, previously weeks on end. Usually i will feel so nauseous when i wake that i cannot just go back to sleep. Most times before i throw up i feel incredibly hungry yet am unable to eat as it will just come straight back up. I rarely throw up food, insted produce alot of saliva and throw up bile.. unless ive forced myself to eat something beforehand in an attempt to stop myself being sick. I may throw up once or twice in a morning.. other mornings it seems like an endless cycle, but always goes away around lunch time.

This has only been happening during the last year since ive moved out of home.. I wonder if it started due to skipping meals/irregular eating thanks to being very tight financially. I know my stomach shrank for several months and it took alot of time & discomfort to stretch back to a normal size. I believe this was around the time it began. I have been eating fairly well since, still inconsistently at times but i make sure i eat regularly enough during the day, even if they're small meals. I havnt been throwing up as often, but ever since i started my gag reflexes are extra sensitive and my stomach seems weaker, i feel it is alot easier for me to throw up than it should be. I just hope this isnt hurting my stomach.

Could this simply be dieting issues, or something else?

I have been having morning nausea for the past couple of days now. It actually wakes me up in the morning. My diet hasn't changed recently, nor has my eating habits. I can't figure it out. It usually goes away about an hour after I wake up, but returns the next morning.

I guess I should confirm a few things. I am a 38 year old male, so pregnancy is out the question.

Wow, I am really surprised to see how many young males are having the exact same problem I am having. I am a 23 year old male and I've been experiencing morning nausea on and off for a few years now. Although, lately it seems to be getting worse. I mean I love my job and my life but, of course, there is always a certain amount of stress to deal with. I just moved in with my girlfriend and her 3 year old daughter so of course people are telling me I'm not used to my new lifestyle. But like is said, this has been happening long before I even met my girlfriend. Also, it's not always in the morning. the other night I couldn't finish eating dinner because I started feeling that same feeling as if my stomach was turning inside out. I lost my appetite for a few hours. I'm convinced there is some kind of imbalance in my system. There are many days I used to skip school because of nervousness that would cause my stomach to turn. Now it's affecting my attendance at work. I'm currently working full-time now and I can't think of anything mentally that is causing this. I was just curious and wanted to see what other people had to say before heading to that big trip to the doctors... Maybe it's just all in my head?

I too have non-preg morning sickness. I am a 29yr old female..and well..this has really been an irritation to me for atleast a few years now. I am a smoker..and drink more than my fair share of Mt.Dew and have always I guess tied it to that? I do also have a very touchy gag reflex..and suffer a lot from what I call "thick throat"..more things I'm sure don't help the situation. (both of which do occur at any time of day). My biggest issue is attempting to brush my teeth when I wake up...blah! Not a fun deal! And trying to get my 2 young children ready for school while feeling "ookie". I too am searching for a "remedy"...but am not exactlly able to weed out the smoking/soda drinking thing to see if thats it or not. It does not affect me any other part of the day..and is pretty short lived..but still horribly irritating!

I have been on a general anti-biotic but have recently had the dosage increased. Could this be killing off my intestinal bacteria/have something to do with this?

I am 16 years old and I have a similar problem. Its not strictly morning for me, it seems to happen more randomly. Eating or chewing anything usually helps. Being that i have a terrible gag reflex i think that largely contributes to the problem. Usually i end up swallowing so much air that i become so bloated i vomit. Although it is very random and happens a lot during the day usually it is worse if I start in the morning. Chewing ice is the biggest help ever it prevents me from vomiting 99% of the time. Unfortunately ice is not readily available any where you go. Also having gum helps too. I think it is an anxiety thing because it will also happen in instances like every time on my way to go snowboarding. It also comes in waves. I had it for about 1 month, then it went away over the summer as I began sleeping in, then as school began It picked up again. After the third quarter it stopped completely and now its back. It really sucks when it inhibits me from socializing. I also find that doing anything distracting like watching TV, playing video games, or playing hackysack help tremendously. I am currently seeing a psychiatrist but even though anxiety has a part I am almost positive that it is not the only factor contributing to this terrible problem.

Im a 22 year old female, I've had this off and on now for about a year, its recently come back within the last few months pretty bad. I thought I was going crazy until I stumbled across this page where it seems everyone has the same issue! Ive looked into it quite a bit, it seems like a common factor is a drop in blood sugar over night. I started drinking milk in the morning and it seems to help a little. Its got plenty of sugar in it and goes down nice when it's cold. That seems to help a little. Its just the getting out of bed part thats difficult. So it seems like an allergy to morning is basically the answer. Because when I get to sleep in past 10 I usually feel fine. I tried eating things like bagel, or muffins but I think that's a bad idea... at least in normal size. Im going to try the mini muffins to see how those go since they are smaller and not so over whelming for my stomach. Unfortunately I am currently without insurance too so I cannot even try going to the doctor for any tests without them taking an arm and a leg. I also suffer from enlarged tonsils so when i feel sick or something is near the back of my throat, if I get even close to gagging its really over exaggerated and this makes every day tasks like brushing my teeth extremely difficult.

I am a 26 Year old male with the same problems. I've been tested for H. Pylori, had an upper GI tract scope (EGD), and nothing out of the ordinary has been discovered. I did have my gallbladder removed several years ago, but this nausea is new, only had it about 6 months, and it is getting progressively worse. I've tried several anti-acid medications, and none have helped, even remotely. I can't eat anything in the mornings other than a glass of milk (no oatmeal, cream of wheat, cereal, nothing) without getting an upset stomach. I saw one post on this board suggesting a tilt-table test, I'll have to investigate that, it seems worth a shot. I find it interesting that nobody has posted a solution/diagnosis that worked for them yet.

I cant believe how many people suffer from this! I thought i was alone...
Mine started about a year ago, when i suffered from an awful 'hangover'. I couldnt eat all day and kept rushing to the loo, but was never actually sick. i still drank irregularly and always had that feeling. then i started to get it before i'd even had an alcoholic drink. i went to the doctor and they said it was 'definitely' an alcohol intolerance. so i stopped drinking. and ive still been getting it!
I went to the doctor a few days and ive been booked in to the hospital for more tests. All my blood tests results were inconclusive. Its very frustrating when no-one seems to know whats wrong with you, and every day im feeling so sick. Id recommend getting an appointment at your hospital if you can afford it. At least we might finally resolve this! :-)
