I am a 35 yo female and I have been suffering with this too, exactly like everyone describes. I do not have a gall bladder, had that removed several years ago. It started off with it just being on days when I had things to go too out of town, often when I had to get up really early, which would indicate stress and anxiety. I have a family history of anxiety and I have always been nervous, but the last 6 months or so I have had increased nausea to where its daily as well as diahrea and I feel better after I go but its short lived. If I get too cold I feel sick too. Just started a new job and had some major house repairs so all that added to my stress. My doctor thinks I have spastic colon or IBS, which I do agree I have to some extent, as well as lactose intolerance. Right now he has me on fiber twice a day and a acid reducer in the AM. The first week it seemed to help but this week, not so much. I am also taking a anxiety pill nightly to try to see if I can avoid waking up anxious when I have something to do the next day. He also gave me some samples of a generic of compazine, which is for nausea. They help a lot and help me get through the morning. I tried to eat a banana or something easy but with my stomach sometimes I can have something one day and not the next. We will see what the Dr has to say on Thursday when I go back. Maybe I will have him check me for parasites and such. What a disgusting thought.

Hi im 24yo female I like all of you have had the nausea and vomiting mine has been going on for over 2 years I have switched doctors several times bc they didnt seem to believe me or would not do anything about it. I finally found a doctor who seemed to listen to what I had to say and she sent me to a surgeon who took out my gallbladder bc they thought thats what was causing me to be sick and nauseous. Well i did have a gallstone but that did not cure me it really made it worse. I also went to see a gastro dr who did a endoscopy on me and told me i have barretts esophagus and gave me aciphex which has helped a lot i have to take 2 pills a day and im now only sick maybe 2 days a week instead of everyday. My only problem is they dont have a generic for aciphex and its $100.00 a month which i cant afford. I still think something else is wrong besides the barretts esophagus bc im still getting nauseous and vomit most of the time its in the morning and a lot of time its bile that comes up which yall might know burns like c**p and taste worse. I have an appt later this month with the Mayo Clinic here in my hometown ill let yall know how that works out. I wish everyone well and hope we can all find out whats going on.

I'm 22 and I've been experiencing this off and on for the last 6 years. It's definitely worse if I have an interview or some special event such as my graduation from both high school and beauty school, but its also happening on days where my biggest plans are to do laundry. I asked my mom about it and she said she thought it was nerves and/or low blood sugar and suggested that I keep some crackers next to the bed and when I wake up before I even sit up to try and get like three of them down and then proceed slowly with getting out of bed. I use crispix instead as I have a low tolerance of wheat, but same idea. I also brew some mint tea as it is very settling for the stomach. I have found that sea bands can help and avoiding setting in the back of vehicles until the nausea dissipates. I really wish there was something more effective, but I guess with health care being the way it is I'll have to take whatever I can get. Typing this blog has helped a little.

You could check two things.. first being the easy one. If you eat late at night .. then you could wake up feeling sick in the morning.

The second I would only check if accompanies with other symptoms like bloating, indigestion, acid reflux of any kind, diarrhea, smelly farts..lol.. is a gluten intolerance test. or a celiac test. You could also try a food sensitivity test done by your local natropath. :-) thats my unqualified opion. good luck to you all.

I have this same thing. I am 15 years old and it started when I was around 12 years old. I don't understand it at all. If I wake up to early and get up and get going, I start to get sick again. Sometimes I actually do throw up. If I wake up on my own.. which is later, than I don't get sick. I have cheerleading practice early in the mornings (around 6:00) and I get out there and the sickness worsens about 20x's! One time I vomited over 20x's at practice. It is extremely frustrating because no doctor I see understands it.

I am 19 and have had the same thing since I was little. Eventually after eating tums everyday for years I tried taking Prilosec as soon as I wake up before breakfast and all my nausea is gone within an hour. But whats great is that it slowly dissolves, so I don't get sick any time until the next morning.

Just stumbled across this board while searching out my symptoms here at work. I a 27 y/o female and have had early morning nausea for about 6 years. I think the first 2 attacks were while I was pregnant (7yrs ago) but thought nothing of it at the time.
I will find myself tossing and turning in bed, anywhere from 2am - 6am, and HAVE to get up, I just cant ignore the odd feeling i have going on. Laying down or sitting makes it worse. It will feel like i have to have a bowel movement, but at the same time is nauseating!! As if my digestive tract is moving backwards. The nausea will last for a few hours (and being half asleep makes it worse). Sometimes having a BM will make the nausea feel worse (BM are always loose..not normal). I have to pace the floor and cant stop moving until it passes, can't even keep water down. Bouts of this will last a few nights in a row up to a week....at least once a month. Usually no appetite then the rest of the day, or the days i have this going on. I have to force food in.

During the day i burp alot, and feel bloat and full even just eating a little, i cant eat like i used to. And i feel as thought im not passing swallowed air too well. A full heavy/hard feeling in my left side below my rib cage. and sometimes kidney pressure. I don't eat anything after 9pm. I dont drink sodas or high acid anything. No history of GI problems.

I have had an upper GI endoscopy (normal), ultrasound...found fluid surrounding my gallbladder. And several blood tests, as well as an x-ray. No gallstones or bacteria were found. No ulcers. I've even gone to therapy for a year and put on meds. because I had a dr tell me it was stress/anxiety. Which i have suffered from most my life. NOTHING has helped. Drs think im coo-coo. I think my b/f feels im full of it, he didnt even want to go to the ER with me. I just had an appt. the other day and they told me flat out, they dont know whats wrong, check with my family dr next month when i have an episode....and see if he recommends having my gallbladder removed. I think i should at least have a colonoscopy done first. I'm at a loss and hope i dont ruin anymore family vacations because of this!!!!

I get horrible morning nausea too, especially if I don't eat breakfast soon after I wake up. Around 10:30 or 11, I get it again. I'm pretty sure it's caused by low blood sugar.

It started when I was 17, when I was being very restrictive with what I would allow myself to eat. After a series of blood tests, my doctor told me then that I had reactive hypoglycemia, which a lot of people tend to develop because we generally don't always eat the right foods or consistently throughout the day.

Anyway, if you eat smaller meals spaced throughout the day comprised of unrefined complex carbohydrates, protein, and fat, nausea should become less of a problem, because your blood sugar levels won't dip as low. That means no cereal or bagels for breakfast. Maybe a slice of whole wheat toast with almond butter, along with an apple and a hard-boiled egg? I know crackers or toast is all you can sometimes stomach with nausea, but try to prevent the nausea by eating balanced meals and more frequently. Good luck!

I'm 25 years old and started getting nauseous a couple of months after I had my little girl. Which has now been 2 and a half years ago. I get nauseous whenever I'm tired, especially if I get woke up in the middle of the night or when I wake up and still feel tired. I've also noticed that when I get stressed that this happens. I have a couple of thoughts of why this happens. Maybe it's my hormones, for I feel like they've been out of whack since I had my little girl. Or maybe from going so long without sleep, for my little girl still doesn't sleep through the night and very seldom do I get 8 hours. The only thing I've found to help is I have some nausea pills left over from a surgery I had. Maybe they sell an over the counter nausea medicine like the ones they sell for people who get carsick.

I'm 25 years old and about 2 or 3 months after having my little girl I started getting nausea. Well that's been two and a half years ago. I get nausea whenever I'm tired which is frequently. It's worst when I'm going to bed at night and when I wake up in the mornings. I've noticed it happens if I get stressed also. The only thing that I've found to help is I have some prescription nausea medicine leftover after I had surgery. Maybe there's some OTC medicine like the medicine you can buy for getting carsick.

I've been having this problem as long as I can remember. I'm 24 years old and have had it since as far back as 7th grade, so I definitely know it isn't pregnancy. I used to think it was due to acidic things like orange juice my mom wanted me to drink before school. I stopped drinking that and it helped slightly, but I'd still feel sick first thing after waking up. I stopped eating breakfast and that's helped slightly too but I wake up every day and feel so sick to my stomach that I don't think I can go to work. I don't usually throw up but the overwhelming sense of nausea is almost worse. I ususally end up trying to get fresh air or drinking something cold, somehow apple juice helps. Now I am just at the point that I know how to continue with my morning and ignore it until the feeling passes. I usually feel fine before noon. I never really thought of going to the doctor about it because I just figured they'd tell me to eat something, but I know that doesn't help me and just makes it worse. Glad I'm not alone!

I have had morning nausea for many years on and off. I tried eating earlier supper but woke up starving. If I eat cereal or porrige in the morning I feel even worse so I tried eating fruit for breakfast - Big mistake. Even drinking water or tea makes this worse. I do have a hernia and an ulcer and am convined that this is caused by the ulcer. I find OTC nausea pills do not help but my doctor prescribed Clopomon I think it is called which works like a bomb and always keep them handy. In the last months my husband has also had these symtoms but he does not believe me. I have just learned to live with morning nausea, not nice but what else can we do? Hopefully a clever doc will come up with a solution we can all use. Can that pse happen SOOOOON

I have had morning nausea for a few different reasons throughout my life (now 32 years old). At 24 I was diagnosed with a Pituitary Tumor which caused both morning sickness and lactation due to the production of the hormone prolactin. More recently, I had bloating, nausea and occasional abdominal pain which turned out to be an ulcer caused by the bacteria H. Pylori. If you think you could have an ulcer, you need to get a blood test for H. Pylori as that is commonly the cause. The treatment is just two weeks of antibiotics and then I was feeling much better. Other factors to morning nausea could be just pure exhaustion ( not getting enough sleep) or definitely nerves. My doctor recommends all women (women because we take our stress out on our stomachs) take a Probiotic, drink 1/4 cup of Aloe Vera Juice and eat as much fiber as possible every day. This will help heal ulcers and promote digestive health.

It could be H. pylori which causes ulcers - it's a spiral bacteria that gets into stomach lining and what causes most Ulcers in the stomach. It's an easy blood test that you can ask your doctor to have. They can tell you within a few hours if you have it. I did this and my test turned out positive, my doctor said good call. You might have taken antibiotics for one parasite but that one doesn't kill this one, believe me I know already took one horrible antibiotic flagayl and still had the symtoms. It wasn't until I took the combination of the two antibiotics and the acid reducer together for the full period of time that things got better and my digestion became perfect. Do a search on H. Pylori.
