You shouldn't be drinking at l, you're not old enough lol. Try not to binge. Good luck.
This "guest" has a name. I am Joe and 54 years old. I am on my second series or warfarin for a second cardio ablation that will be taking place 7/11/13. The first ablation that was done 9/4/12 didn't quite fix me, so hopefully this will be the charm. Through all of this the doctors have not found any blockage of any kind or clotting issues, just a pesky atrial flutter. I did the first warfarin series dry, without any beer, which I love. It sucked for 6 months, so this time I decided to listen to the consistency crowd and held myself to four (4) beers a day, before I started taking warfarin this time, and four (4) beers a day while I am on it. They also had me on 80mg Aspirin therapy, in conjunction of starting the warfarin. Instructions about the Aspirin is to discontinue it when my INR is over two (2). Today my INR was two point five (2.5), so I will discontinue the Aspirin. I intend to have my usual four (4) beers and promise not to have an accident, just stay at home and relax from life.
Am I a train wreck about to happen?
Has your diet changed any? Have you introduced more Vitamin K enriched foods, more than normal? I have been on Warfarin therapy since 2006, and will be on it for life. I have to watch my diet and make sure that my green leafy veggies are the same amount each day.
I had to respond to you because that is exactly what I have and I've never heard of anyone else having it. I'm a lot older than you, I'm 6l and was diagnosed at 49 after I had a brain hemorrage due to a blood clot.My experience has been if I drink more than a couple my INR goes up so I'm not an expert but my guess would be that beer might help your inr to help to get into range. Good luck to you!
I'm worried about my Mom she's 82 on warfarin drinks 8oz of wine a day her blood test are weekly and they keep changing her doses higher 7mg a day now. Is the wine effecting her test I know that her diet is low in Vitamin K.
Guest you still around? I'm getting my mechanical valve in few weeks and wanted to check up on you. I like to have a couple of drinks daily.
It is factor v- Leiden. Affects blood clotting. Inherited.
Beer AND wine lowers INR to 2. Which is bad for me. Hard liquor doesn't bother it.
