Hey, I posted one topic a couple of minutes ago but I forgot to ask one question that is really important to me. I tied my tubes and I am feeling OK now, I hope that soon I will be able to recover totally at my home...Who knows.
My doctors told me that I need to be home for a while until I recover totally from this procedure. I was wondering what is average recovery time after tubal ligation?
Anyone of you in here has experience with it? I would like to hear everything, even what can go wrong with it?
Hi Wanna do,
It is very easy to recover from tubal ligation and I think that the average time that a woman needs in order to completely recover from this surgery is about two weeks. The doctors will usually let you go home just a few hours after the procedure has been done and you should be able to go back to your everyday routine things in just two weeks, that is at least the average time, you might need some more time or less time, who knows, I guess that you will see that for yourself as the time goes.
You can do whatever you want, I don't really think that you need any recovery time. I mean, think about it, think about what this surgery is all about and I think that you will come to a conclusion that you don't need any recovery time. You might want to wait for some time before an intercourse but the doctors basically say that you can have an intercourse at the very moment when you are released from the hospital and nothing bad can happen to you, so I don't really think that you need any recovery time at all, you know.
Hi there.
The good thing is that you will be able to go home from the hospital the same day you have the procedure. Everyone will tell you that this operation is not dangerous and that, generally, tubal ligation is considered a low-risk operation. That is one more reason why you should not be scared.
But also you should know that, as with any other surgical procedure, mild side effects can occur. For example, you might experience headaches, cramps, lower abdominal pain, etc.
That is all normal.
When it comes to your recovery process, it should take about two or three weeks.
Good luck.
I did this procedure when I was 37 years old. I did it just after I gave birth to my fourth kid. When I asked my doctor should I do this, he told me that there is no reason why I should not do it right now. I was perfectly healthy, I felt good so I did it. When I woke up I felt OK. They let me go my home immediately and I felt good for the first three days. After three days I started to feel nausea, fatigue and I noticed that I was still bleeding. I was scared so I went to see my doctor. He told me that this is all normal and that I don't need to be that scared. So, I cleared my mind totally and I felt very good after this. My recovery process was over after 10 days and I was normal again.
Good day folks.
I was really happy when I found a fact that tubal sterilizations are more than 99 percent effective. Those are the good news so if I ever decide to do this procedure, I will.
Anyway, it is a safe operation, but you should be aware of some potential problems such as high fever, bleeding, and abdominal pain after 12 hours. Make sure that you observe everything after they let you go home after the operation.
My friend had fast recovery process. After three days she started to work again and she felt ok.
It seems to me that this depends from person to person.
Good luck.
