The only way a doctor could prepare you is by giving you the best and worst scenarios what would put people off having it done and could endanger there life if it was cancerous at all.
As with any operation they cannot predict what after effects each person will get.
I'm so sorry, that happened to my wife also. My wife wouldn't do any research before having a radical hysterectomy even though I asked her to. As a result, I'm harboring a lot of resentment. She had heavy bleeding due to fibroids and just wanted the problem to go away (and it did.) My wife is still a very happy and bubbly person...just perfect, I couldn't find a better mate. That's what makes it difficult for me because, as a man, I have all these green lights to the natural progression of these feelings but find my wife no longer has the desire. So...it made me think of spaying and neutering dogs. When I come home my dog just loves me and is so happy and this is great. Dogs are usually "fixed" when they're very young so I suspect the dogs have no idea what they're missing. Since we know what spaying and neutering does to animals, (it makes them "calmer" and they aren't running away from home looking for sex or humping your leg - among other reasons) why should we expect anything different with humans? And please, I hope no female comments about "so many other ways to have sex" such as cuddling and back rubs. They can try that with their new boyfriend or husband, let me know how that works out for you. In conclusion, it's my opinions Drs should include the spouse while making such big decisions. Heck, they even recommend counseling before getting married. Sorry for my rant but it's just plain stupid how Drs and patients often give so little consideration to a potential life changing decision.

Update: Speaking of dogs, have you ever noticed how many women's articles talk about "giving out sex" as it's some kind of favor or trerat for good behavior?) Oh, just give the poor guy a bj so he can go to sleep then back to work to buy the groceries. I may be different than many men but here goes: Do you know what turns me on to the max? I'll tell you, it's giving pleasure to my partner until she climaxes as many time as possible. Here's something interesting I bet you haven't thought of; women can see a mans erection and know the mojo is working. What can a man easily see in a woman? One might talk about body language, the swelling of the sex organs...well many women have an indicator they just can't hide and that's "wetness." And what can a women lose with the "procedure?" Possibly the wetness factor, something to think about girls. I can't even go outside my marriage for sex from a professional because I know why she's really with me for the money. If this guy has to "pay for it" than that is about as much damage you could do to my self esteem. If I have to beg or pay for it, there's no way this boy will be sporting a woody. So, I'll take the cue form my dog since he seems quite happy, I guess I can go to the vet and talk about getting neutered. I suspect the vet would be the best practitioner since they do it all day long. Oh, and here's the best part, I wont have to worry about getting cancer in my testicles. Yeah, you go boy!
Dear Guest,
I had a radical hysterectomy 2 years ago because of uterine cancer. Early stage -- no chemo and no radiation. I can't get enough of sex but husband is 10 years older and not interested so I have to go solo. Has your wife tried purchasing a set of dilators to slowly open the vagina back up -- it will take 8 to 12 weeks. The set is about 5 or 6 different sizes with the largest 1.5 in. - the size of a man's penis. Also, use and investigate different types of lube including Carlson's Vitamin E suppositories which can go into either a vagina or rectum wherever you need it. My oncologist and gynecologist who did the surgery said it was okay to use one half of the suppository because it is pretty full bodied lubricant. Amazon has it. I can not take hormones because of the cancer so one half suppository works for me. Also, lots of foreplay with the clitoris area and talk sensual -- not real dirty. Good luck to you.
The comments on this site are so POSITIVE compared to many other sites. I'm wondering who is writing these comments ....are they real people? Or do they work for the medical industry?
