I have been running occasionally for a year. Now I want to get serious and train on a regular basis. What is the best way to do it? How many times a week should I run? Do I have to take breaks? Will you please help me with my running schedule?
Well, when it comes to the training schedule, it is a jungle out there. There are so many ways and types of workouts that is seems next to impossible to discern the good one. Like with many other things, there is more than one way to do something. Different people have different schedules and the fact is it worked for them fine. That doesnt mean that it will work for you as well. You have to try for yourself and find out what is the best for you. Running three times a week seems like a good start. Every two weeks you should add extra days off. This is to avoid overtraining.
