The toothpaste is the cause for me. I've had the gel strands before and just switched to Crest whitening toothpaste and it started up again immediately with its use.

I believe the white dried saliva in the morning was the result of the body's response to breathing problem at night. Do you snore?
When you stop breathing at night, your brain produces some chemical and electrical impulses that causes your saliva to thicken and white color.
I had observed this personally because I had sleep apnea. If I do not use the cpap breathing machine at night, I would wake up with white color dried saliva around my mouth which means there were times my brain did not get enough oxygen because I stop breathing while asleep.

inside of mouth has white stringy stuff every morning and tongue is white and coated. mouth is rough inside swells somewhat it has been over a year now.dentist doesn't know. It is not tooth paste I've tried them all. I have to lick my lips and run my tongue over inside of my mouth all time?
