Hi, guest.

Foliate Papillae and Circumvallate Papillae are normal structures on the tongue. Foliate papillae are located on the sides of the tongue and are involved in taste sensation, while circumvallate papillae are larger structures in a V-shape at the back of the tongue. Sometimes they can become inflamed or irritated due to various reasons such as infections, allergies, or irritation from certain foods or dental appliances.

Ear and gum pain could be related or unrelated to the tongue issue. Sometimes, problems in the mouth or throat can refer pain to the ear. Gum pain could be due to dental issues like gingivitis, tooth infection, or even just irritation.

Your doctor prescribed antibiotics, which suggests they might have suspected a bacterial infection. If you've completed the course and still feel the same, it's important to follow up with your doctor. Antibiotics won't be effective against viral infections or non-infectious causes of inflammation.

Burning sensation could be due to a condition known as burning mouth syndrome, which could be related to a variety of factors including nutritional deficiencies, hormonal changes, or nerve damage. It could also be a reaction to certain foods, oral hygiene products, or medications.

While waiting for healing or further medical advice, you can focus on maintaining good oral hygiene, avoiding irritants like spicy or acidic foods, and monitoring your symptoms.
