I know this is an old thread, but I came across it during my search to find out if this discharge is normal!
I just turned 45 and having many symptoms of menopause. I have almost a constant clear mucusy discharge where I have to wear a panty liner to feel dry. It's very worrisome.. Has anyone figured this out? I have an appointment with my Gyn on the 23rd but was wondering if anyone had been told it was normal during this stage of life...
Hi lady I am 45 and I am going through menopause right now and I am passing a similar discharge.I think is all our virginal fuel that is coming out that is why they have a saying women do not have an organism after they have gone through menopause.Thats my believe?
I'm in my forties and am also on a bioidentical cream. I think the discharge is just the changes in hormones. I had hot flashes as well but they have subsided. Now I have terrible breast and nipple pain (estrogen is now too high). Have you spoken to your Doc about changing your dose since you are still having hot flashes. I had to have mine adjusted twice and now I need it lowered. Good luck
Hi im 48 and been menopausal for two years. Never had the white creamy discharge since recently (1 month) at first i thought it was a yeast infection but it doesnt have a smell or the same texture. I have had hot flashes and let me tell ya THEY ARE THE WORSE esp at night. Other women have told me their experience and I found its based on diet and ESPECIALLY sugar. Alot of women have pointed that out...cut your sugar intake. So i have and now, seeing its my second summer with my hot flashes they arent so bad but i do miss my sugar
You are not alone! It's a shame no one talks about menopause. it's embarrassing to have discharge and odors you can't get rid of. You may want to try juicing along with cutting the sugar. Cold pressed juices sold in some stores like whole foods are ok if you don't have time to juice raw veggies. Orgasms help to decrease hot flashes to. Sex is important along with exercise. Some doctors don't know that the discharge comes from menopause. They diagnose it wrong.
I am going to try this. Thank you!
I had hysterectomy with everything out except one ovary 8 months ago, was very dry and this month starting getting the white thicker discharge, no inch, no strong smell, not so bad that I need panty liners but I do need to wash more since it is on vargina. It becomes very bad after orgasm and a bunch of it around his penis rim. (married for 23 years and 44 years old so no cheating) Went to numerous docs, they told me it was normal and all tests say nothing wrong. I do take testerone cream and feel this makes it worse, along with shakeness between meals when i do the cream, 3 doctors told me this is not possible and everything must be from something im eating or not to worry about it. When i stop the cream, i do not get the white discharge as bad, and do not get the shakes between meals. When i go back on it, seems to be worse. i eat the same foods Mon-Friday so i do not believe it is from food, I believe it could be stress and hormones. It is very frustrating when your body starts to change and docs do not belive you or research any of it. Happy for internet now that we can read other women are having same issues.
I have this as well and if you think back to before your period started and during the late teenage years you may remember seeing a similar discharge as I do, I think it is normal as your body is going through another phase, I am not worried about it so maybe you shouldn't either. Hope this helps!!
I am 51. My doctor had me stop using my birth control pills 2 months before my 50th birthday. He had me take a blood test and told me the results showed that I am postmenopausal. Since I went off the birth control, I have only gotten my period twice. Within the last several months I have noticed a thin, white milky discharge. Sometimes it is heavy and sometimes it isn't heavy. There is no odor and no itching. I didn't think it was a yeast infection. I have had a yeast infections several times in my life so I know how horrible that can be with the thick discharge and intense itching. I had an appointment 3 weeks ago with a uro-gyno for my bladder issues and he told me I had a yeast infection and gave me a prescription for 3 pills. They didn't change the discharge. So I went to the drug store and bought the 3 day treatment of suppositories, and I still had the discharge. Then 2 weeks ago I saw a foot doctor about my toe nail fungus and she prescribed a 90 day supply of an anti-fungal pills which I have been taking for 2 weeks now, and I stiil have the white milky discharge. So I am thinking this is not a yeast infection. My husband is a microbiologist and he said that these ant-fungal pills would kill a yeast infection. So I have no idea why I have this. I am not very sexually active (which my husband is very unhappy about), but I am mentioning it only because the last time we had intercourse, it was very painful, and I have never had that problem before. And I am wondering if it is related. As far as the discharge is concerned...I guess I just have to live with it.
Hi Kimberley,
I have just read your post but just seen it was over a year ago that you posted it! sorry but it has helped me as I haven't had a cycle for about 1.5 years and last month had a white discharge which I had to wear a pantyliner..went to doctor and explained this and he has referred me to have a scan! so now worried. I just wondered where you are in this journey now?
I'm 49, haven't had a period for almost 4 years, and have the same problem. Glad to know I'm not alone. I'm getting my physical in a few weeks, so if I find out anything, I'll let you know.
