i had unprotected sex after i took the plan b pill will the plan b pill work 4 days after i took it or should i take another and start birth control?

Plan B is not intended to be used prior to having sex as birth control so no, it won't work 4 days later. Use another form of protection, such as a condom.
Plan B is also not meant to be taken multiple times during your cycle. It is a very large dose of hormones.
You should consider starting daily birth control. Most take at least 7 days to become effective however.

I know its not meant to be taken before sex, and it was stupid of me. But I thought we were covered and I'm hoping for the chance that the hormones that stop ovulation/fertilization would have still been at work. Would you know if it helps at all if you have unprotected sex about 10 hours after taking it?
10 hours after, it'll will probably help, as it will be in your bloodstream, although that is not the intended use.
