Will Vaseline work as anal lube?

Vaseline will work if you are just looking to masturbate...but it's a messy clean up. NEVER use vaseline if you are going to be using a condom though. Your best bet, though, is a water based lube...like XY Jelly. I don't think they would be suspicious that you were using it for anal masturbation at all - since it is used all the time for regular masturbation, and sex.

Yes it is safe to use vaseline in anal lubricant. However, it can cause latex condoms to break down. So if you use a condom, try something that isn't petroleum based.

Would moisturizing cream work as a lube?

Nope. I had a girlfriend when 3was in my early 20s that wanted anal sex one night. We had no lube and I was thinking it wasn't going to happen. She came out with some sort of expensive lotion. Think and creamy. We were monogamous and did use condoms. I applied it. She lived the feeling... until it dried. I had to stop, clean up and we tried another activity, if you will.

That bring said I'm not so sure that petroleum jelly is bad for anal sex. It is thick and easy to apply. Never had a problem. I've used everything from water-based lube, to silicone to baby oil. All have their pros and cons.

My verdict on Vaseline isn't bad or good. Rather neutral. I would suggest if you have the money to get a oil based lube from your local smut store. Usually things like Boy Butter. To spite it's name it's good for hertros too. They have a water based version too if you are using condoms.

The porn industry used alot of Anal Grease. Try that too.
