I have attributed my itching to "fiber foods". Eating nuts (especially almonds), strawberries, oatmeal, energy bars, any kind of berries, etc will make it much worse. Cleaning your anal area with soft, moist/wet cleansing sheets (like for babies) helps. Don't scratch - no matter how much you want to!

I have the exact same thing!!.

I was diagnosed with bacteria vaginosis, and a few days after starting to take the pill I started to have the itching problem on my rectum. I went to the emergency room a few days ago and before the doctor even looked she started to talk about Herpes... But then she gave me all these other possibilities of what it could be. Either way, she gave me a prescription for Herpes and Nystatin... something to mix with Mylanta, zinc oxide, and a triple antibiotic ointment. i was told to rub this on my rectum every time i went to the restroom. i see an OB-GYN in a few days... I guess I'll be back here to report my findings. :)

I know that they say that these are symptoms of Herpes... Genital Herpes. You might want to be tested for it.

But I did use the Nystatin, Cortizone, triple antibiotic ointment, and Zinc Oxide, and it worked. :). It's for hemorrhoids.
It still hurts when i poop due to lack of drinking water... and I need a stool softener. :/.

Its Jock itch! Get some Lamisil or Lotrimin athletes foot or jock itch cream and apply according to directions. You will be fixed. To prevent this in the future make sure you blow dry your crack and genitals after taking a shower or swimming and try to keep it dry during the day.

OMG you had me laughing so hard nearly in tears. I could relate to you so much. I've been dealing with just what you described and finally decided to research it more and came across your input and it read like a comedy act to me. I'm not laughing at your pain, but your presentation. I hope and pray both our butts will rest in peace so to speak.

You are describing my symptoms exactly! Only I have had this problem for two years now. I went to a OB-GYN today and she seemed baffled and suggested that I see a medical doctor for my problem. I thought mabye it was due to a hemroid or something but I have researched symptoms of hemroids and the itching is not as severe as I have it. And does not spread around the inner butt cheeks areas. She recommended that I use a yeast infection cream and to stay away from sugars. I am hoping that will take care of that cause I am soooo... tired of having this condition because I feel like its getting worse as time goes by.

Avoid gluten and nightshades. That's what causes it for me. Especially white potatoes
