I am experiencing the same problem with no relief. Today I was so desperate for relief and have tried everything else so I tried peroxide, It helped relieve the itch and burning. So far so good, I hope it gets rid of it. This is my second day taking the antibiotics for the "bacterial infection" we have all been diagnosed with. I really hope the peroxide makes it go away.

You can also use a otc anti-fungal powder. Your goal is to dry the rash up and not keep it moist. Anti-fungal powder will dry it up (maybe not completely but alleviate the s/s a lot). All the cream will do is keep it moist. My hubby had this problem. I prescribed Lotrim powder (for athlete's feet) for him. His is almost cleared up. Wash 2 -3 times a day with snti-bacterial soap, dry thoroughly, and apply powder.

I had this problem (red, itchy rash on buttocks - spread up my lower back) earlier this year (2013) and wanted to share how I got rid of it. Over-the-counter remedies did not work at all. I then went to both my OB-GYN and a dermatologist. Both prescribed the same medicine, Fluconazole, a pill that you take every other day for a relatively short time. The OB-GYN gave me 3 pills and I got 5 more from the dermatologist since she thought I needed to be on it a little longer. Can react with other RX so let your doctor know what you're taking. The dermatologist also gave me a cream called Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream USP 1%/.05% (base). Both doctors felt it was an overgrowth of yeast on the skin that had gotten into my system. The pills helped systemically and the cream also provided relief. My regimen was to take a shower and clean the area only with water or Cetaphil cleanser (I use the generic version). Then gently pat dry. Dry further with cool setting on your hair dryer. Apply cream twice a day. No scratching. I switched to cotton underwear to reduce heat build up. At the beginning of the treatment, I would put on two pair of underwear and put in an ice pack between them. The lower temperature provided a great deal of relief since the medications took a few days to work. But they did work, and I'd say within a week I could no longer feel the itch and within a month, all of the redness had gone away. I still have cream left and use a little if I ever feel the itch coming back. The condition has not returned. I continue to wash and dry in the same manner. I'm not a doctor, so your condition could be due to something else or your treatment could be different. But I encourage you to see your doctor. Dermatologists and all doctors/PAs have seen it all, so don't be embarrassed. Mine looked at the rash, but that was over in a flash (pardon the pun). I have decent insurance coverage, and I know that not everyone does. The pills were about $3 each for me, but I only needed a total of 8. The cream may have been about $35. I hope that each of you suffering from this can find some answers and relief from my experience. Feel better!

This actually sounds like a heat rash...I had some when I was a kid and it was caused from friction. I was told to use corn starch instead of baby poweder and the itch went away.......if there are bumps, try an otc vaginal yeats kit applie to the bumps.uMy daughter as a baby got a yeast infection with raised red bumps and her dr prescribed Nystatin. Hope this helps!

I just started having this problem a few days ago and I had it all night and couldn't sleep I thought I had a rash on my Anus but I didn't so I tried to keep it as clean as possible and it still didn't go away and again someone said something about white spots I have them too and I researched them and found out its just protein buildup on your body so if anything that's a good thing

Dear folks I am 35years old male with the same problem, but now I am perfectly Allright my mom told me to use raw garlic in morning so I take 2bulbs of garlic crush them with spoon and leave them for 10 minutes and then eat with a slice of bread to avoid damaging the food canal with warm glass of water plus after washing my butts with warm water I dried my bums thoroughly with hairdryer then put lamisil cream and in three days it's gone completely but I am still using garlic to avoid it coming back so when u get rid of this do remember me in ur prayers. I'm going to my doctor on Friday, this has become unbearable. My last doc told me it was hemeroids (spelling!?) which it believe is NOT. I had a child over 6 years ago and they never bother me and this problem started about 8 months ago. I've used 3 types of hem cream, none work for longer than an hour or so. Witch hazel is also a temporary fix, hopefully my doc can help!!

I have been reading your symptoms and my first professional guess would be the same as the person that said it could be pinworms, in which case you would have to make that trip to MD to get RX'D medication.

Sometimes I get this rash on my ass.  It itches real bad. I always thought it was contact dermatis of some sort.  Not near my anal cavity.  I often wear Wrangler jeans that with no underwear.  I quit that in a hurry.  Dirty sheets make me break out.  When I sit in a golf cart for four hours in the hot sun I will often break out.

So, I use Desitin diaper rash cream and it clears it up in about 10 days,  But then I get it a month or two later.  I guess I just have to get some all cotton underwear, use baby powder and apply Desitin to my ass every day to avoid the unbearable itch and or rash.

Hydocortizon does nothing.

Hello friends! I had this issue for a couple of months or so and I am finally seeing this condition fade away in my "rear" view! Here's what helped. First I changed my diet, limited sugar and gluten. This definitely seemed to help with digestion and inflammation. My wife, the greatest woman alive, made a blend of essential oils for me. She combined peppermint, eucalyptus, lavender and jojoba oils to create a magical blend. I applied this to the area after showering when I was completely dry. Also anytime it would flare up I would ease the itch with a little bit more. I also took a pro biotic supplement that you can purchase at any health food store. After following this routine for 2 weeks I am finally sleeping again, and feeling like myself. Good luck and I hope this helps.
